SIZE: 20" X 20" or 51 X 51 cm CONDITION: Very good Vintage Condition. There is a small, very light spot to the left of the hanky's initials. Please zoom in to see it on photos. OPTIONS: Purchase pillowcase separately or with Down/Feather pillow insert (except for international purchases). DETAILS: Pillow is reinforced in the corners and insert sleeve to ensure quality craftsmanship. Fabrics are freshly laundered prior to use. Most vintage fabrics show minor use or imperfections which add to the patina and authenticity of the piece. Dry cleaning is recommended. STORY: This exquisite plump pillow is adorned with a beautiful antique French handmade hanky purchased recently and delivered from France. A steady hand carefully stitched this excellent example of early 20th century French handwork. The initials CB or LB had been neatly embroidered in the corner. This French antique hanky is truly exquisite! Golden yellow and ink black toile fabric was found at a little antique store. Toile fabric comes from the French phase "Toile de Jouy." It originated in the 1800s in a village near Paris called "Jouy en Josas." Toile typically depicts a pastoral scene in one color repeated several times. You can find this iconic design on dishes, wall coverings, and fabrics. So very French! On the back of the pillow, you will find midnight black quality linen with striking vintage complementary gold/black buttons. ## Images ![Vintage FRENCH TOILE Large NEW Pillow, 1910s French Handmade Hanky, NEW Down/Feather Insert, French Country, Shabby Chic - Image 1](http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51%2BD4RZLtiL.jpg) ![Vintage FRENCH TOILE Large NEW Pillow, 1910s French Handmade Hanky, NEW Down/Feather Insert, French Country, Shabby Chic - Image 2](http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51Bzw9eDKqL.jpg) ![Vintage FRENCH TOILE Large NEW Pillow, 1910s French Handmade Hanky, NEW Down/Feather Insert, French Country, Shabby Chic - Image 3](http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51Vz%2BYh%2BejL.jpg) ![Vintage FRENCH TOILE Large NEW Pillow, 1910s French Handmade Hanky, NEW Down/Feather Insert, French Country, Shabby Chic - Image 4](http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/61v8%2BWi9HcL.jpg) ![Vintage FRENCH TOILE Large NEW Pillow, 1910s French Handmade Hanky, NEW Down/Feather Insert, French Country, Shabby Chic - Image 5](http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/61FVpP4gViL.jpg) --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.sn/products/31321600-vintage-french-toile-large-new-pillow-1910s-french-handmade-hanky](https://www.desertcart.sn/products/31321600-vintage-french-toile-large-new-pillow-1910s-french-handmade-hanky) --- *Product available on Desertcart Senegal* *Store origin: SN* *Last updated: 2026-10-03*
