Definitely drills holes in masonry
Great bit if you want to drill hole In concrete 5/8 inch. No bigger or smaller. Keep bit cooler water take time heat will kill everything. Pump sprayer misting help makes future holes less frustrating.

Impressive speed and longevity
These bits are very impressive. I purchased the 5/8x6x8 to drill holes in a concrete pad and used "feathers and wedges" to break chunks of concrete off. It was a pretty big pad, 15x15 or so, and 4-6 inches thick, reinforced with wire mesh (maybe 3/16" thick?). The bit had no problem cutting through the metal mesh along with the concrete. I sometimes drilled up to 50 holes in a row before stopping to put the feathers and wedges in and it held up perfectly. Incredible.
