"An old Book."
Got here in a timely fashion. It was a fair price. Not super clean and fresh, but not too musty dusty either. I'm happy.

The best companion quide for the oil painter
This book is loaded with lot's of valuable information on how to use colors in oil painting. I find it a very helpful reference for choosing, mixing, and applying color. Each painter will greatly benefit from the material contained in this book. It's an excellent source of information as well as inspiration to anyone who enjoys painting in this medium. The author defines and explains such basic terms and concepts as hue, value, intensity, and temperature. He lists the most commonly used colors and describes their behavior when mixed or straight out of the tube. There is a chapter on mixing color, how to make colors warmer, cooler, more intense, lighter or darker, grayer;and how to correct mixing mistakes. Also, the author discusses color schemes; some of the palettes of the old masters; palettes for specific types of subject matter. This book also helps to sharpen your eye to color and all the atmospheric conditions. Any time I have a question, or problem I just pick up this book. This is the best book I've found to have as a permanent reference for the studio.
