Great cordless lamp! It has 3 distinct lighting levels (low, medium, high) any of which can be be useful in different situations. I find the "low" setting (12 hour battery life) is fine most of the time although the "high" level (5 hour battery life) is very bright if you need to light up your entire desk. If the battery runs out while you're using the lamp you can continue to run it for an unlimited amount of time by plugging it into a USB port. When done just turn it off and the charge cycle will start automatically. Nice feature! The neck is very flexible which allows you to precisely configure (shape or angle) it any way you like. Once adjusted it holds it's position very well. As for height, the length from the bottom of the base to the top of the neck (excluding the lighting element) is around 13 inches. The lighting element itself is approximately 5" in length. It contains 14 tiny LED's which are nicely defused by a translucent lens. The lamp is operated by a touch-sensitive zone (rather than a mechanical button) on the top of the base. Each touch cycles the lamp as follows: low, medium, high, off. The base has slightly elevated soft round cushions so no worries about damaging the surface of your desk. Be aware that it takes between 8 -12 hours to fully charge the battery.

The light is great when it's on, the three settings are good levels of light each. BUT, within 6 months, the battery no longer holds any charge. It use to work just like normal on the battery, but I think keeping it plugged in shorted it out or something, because now it won't even last 5 seconds without power.Additionally, the touch button in my opinion is too small. I primarily use it as a night stand light, and for that the light settings are great, but when it's time to shut it off, I usually smack it with all my fingers a few times and one of them eventually hits that tiny sensor.In short, would I but it again? Probably not, I'd probably spend a few extra dollars and get a better one if I can find one.Am I happy with it? I'd say I'm more content than happy. My girlfriend and I did name is EVA though (from WALL-E). "Hey, can you shut EVA off?"

I LOVE THIS LAMP. It has a usb plug, and the base is a battery. You can run it off your pc while working and you get about 8 hours of battery powered light (on high) when it is fully charged. I walk around the house at night. It has 3 levels of brightness. It is bright enough to light up my full dual monitor desk, but not so bright it hurts your eyes. With the base on my desk, it goes up to about shoulder level ( 9 inches or so) and the light part itself is about 4 inches and shielded so light does not come through the backing to get in your eyes. This is a GREAT item for the price. This was MUCH BETTER than I expected for the price.

It's a good product, with only 2 real shortcomings, at times and some angles it's a little top heavy, the base should have a bit more weight to it, and the little "pads" on the bottom were already falling off of the bottom of it, when I took it out of the box. They don't adhere very well to the bottom and need better glue or even another set of them to be able to replace those that end up lost as a result.

Super bright on highest setting. Charges quickly.Instructions recommend that you put on charger when it starts to dim, and I can tell you it is very easy to notice when this happens - not a slow decrease in lighting, you will definitely know when it happens! Just plug it in and keep using

It's good for the price, however it worked for 3 months only, after that it needed to be plugged in all the time. And yes, I did follow instructions.
