First 4 are OK! 5? Not so much.:-(
This drive, the last of 5 installed in my DROBO has already shown signs of failure with sector read errors within the first 1.4 terabytes. The previous 4 of the same make and model continue to perform well.

FAST drive
Much faster than I expected. Most drives start off at a certain transfer speed and then get slower as the drive gets more full, until it is about half the original speed, for example, the HGST 7k4000 series starts off at about 200MB/s and then drops off to about 100MB/s at the end. Not so with this drive. This drive starts off about 210MB/s and then drops off to about 160MB/s about halfway full, and then jumps back up to full speed of 210MB/s again at halfway and drops off again to about 160MB/s. It rocks. It's also an enterprise grade drive, so the reliability has to be much better, and HGST has a reputation for quality and reliability already. From what I've read, the reliability experiences of others have shown FAR better quality than the other manufacturers.
