Purpurea Burkii is the gulf coast form of Sarracenia Purpurea. It makes short pink flowers in the Spring instead of tall purple flowers like the other forms of Purpurea make. It also tans more of a pink to dark pink in strong sun as opposed to blood red like most other forms of Purpurea. After living in NC and seeing them in the wild, I just knew I had to have one of these beautiful carnivorous plants for my collection. The plant came in about a week ago, and the packaging was just perfect for it to make it to me healthy and without damage! There was a minor issue since my plant didn't come with the care sheet, but Joel responded quickly and sent me the care sheet within an hour or two of contact. The important step for initial care was to soak the moss before planting the pitcher plants in it, which I hadn't done correctly at first, but now everything has been figured out and the plant doesn't look like it was negatively effected by my initial blunder since the root didn't dry out.I'll update if anything goes downhill from here, but everything seems good and I'm pretty happy with my purchase! I have been keeping the plant in my house thus far, since it is still freezing here, but I plan to put it outside once summer comes so it can catch prey! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Day of the Triffids *by A***B on Reviewed in the United States on October 6, 2014* After purchasing some Venus Fly Traps from Joel, I thought I would try some Burkii. The package was shipped out very promptly, and arrived in 95 degree weather with no heat stress or problems. Packaged very much the same as the Traps, the plant is wrapped in moss in a ziplock bag. It also contained a pot and dry moss. The detailed instructions are very easy to read and all that's required is distiller water, a water tray and a sunny windowsill! All the details takes the stress out of setting it all up. I've had a few questions that Joel answered very quickly. Ok, now to the Burkii! After removing from the bag I could see how great this plant is! Very colorful, it also had little ones growing from the center. After sitting on my windowsill, it perked up even more and looks very exotic, if not very alien looking! My friend also commented on how it looked like The Day of the Triffids! By selecting these from Joel you are guaranteed excellent service and plants.
