They are heavy, but not too heavy. They are definitely made well. I'm 5'5 and 165 lbs with a thicker waist and thin legs, and the large is a perfect fit. I had surgery a few days ago, and they were perfect to wear home. They're warm without making me sweat. Wore them out during hot days and on cold days. Haven't had issue during either temp.I'm 5'4", so they fit pretty well, doubt they would be tall girl approved. The waistband is also tight, making the string sort of useless and decorative. The waist doesn't usually bother me, but if you have a bigger midsection or if you frequently find your stomach area sensitive, I would not recommend these pants.The pockets work--they fit phone and wallet and I haven't had issues with stuff falling out of them.I would say that if you are exercising, these pants are best for when it is a little cooler out.
