Smooth and gentle. My hair is a mix of wavy textures and this tames without fighting or frazzling it. Way better than plastic combs of similar shape. Purchased for detangling but I use to style too because it helps me look intentional with minimal effort and less product. Static may have been a bigger factor than I knew.Seems like this will last forever. I think this would work well on long or thick hair. Pleasant to use. Can't recommend highly enough.

Ive always used plastic combs and I always found them kind of scratchy on my scalp so when I lost my comb I thought I would try a wooden one and Im so glad I did!! it glides through my hair so much easier than other combs and feels like a scalp massage. My hair is fine but wavy/curly and tangles super easily and this is the only comb that never snags or messes up my curls plus it just feels a lot fancier since its wooden and has kind of a victorian vibe

I have very thick (hair stylists say enough for 4 heads of hair) and spiraled hair. I've gone thru a lot of combs and brushes over the years but not anymore. I finally found my forever comb!!Normally I would use a pick when my hair was wet (along with a detangler spray) and use an air brush to style. I could never use a comb because it would just rip the hair out of my head or cause more knots. That's even with the wide tooth combs.After reading the reviews I thought I'd give it a try. This is hands down the best hair combing device I've ever used! And now the only one I'll ever use!!! This moves through my hair like a hot knife thru butter. No more picks and no more brushes! It works great on my hair, wet or dry! And NO static! A definite plus.My black sandalwood comb doesn't have a smell to it. I like the smell of sandalwood. So if it did have a smell to it I would've minded.

Where has this comb been all my life?!? I have thick, curly, frizzy hair that tangles constantly. This sandalwood comb just breezes through my hair, removing tangles and even reducing the frizziness a bit. I like the comb so much that I just purchased two more for my kids, who have similar hair, so that they won't try to steal my comb.I can't speak to the durability of this comb since I just purchased it, but it feels sturdy and comfortable in my hand (disclaimer: I have small-ish hands, even for a woman).

This beautiful sandalwood comb works great along with my wide-tooth plastic comb for smoother detangling of my 4C coily hair. I have not seen sandalwood combs in the many hair supply shops in my area.
