VL60 proS recommended
I have not taken a long trip with the VL60 proS yet, but have tested it extensively in my 78 degree shop. I am very impressed with it. A few observations: first, itโs heavy. About 60 pounds, empty. And itโs wide enough that one person canโt grab both handles and move it. At least I canโt. Not a big deal, but just so you know. And itโs big. The interior is about 2 cubic feet. Plenty of room for everything you need. I set it for 37 degrees and let it cool down, which took less than an hour. Then I loaded it with stuff from my regular fridge. I did not stuff it absolutely full. You need to leave room for air flow for efficient operation. That said, the more stuff you put in itโup to a pointโthe more efficiently it will run. I put a little Govee Bluetooth thermometer inside at the bottom center of the main section. At a setting of 37, the Govee read 40. Good enough. The FDA recommends that refrigerated foods should be kept at or below 40. Iโm sure if I set it at 33 or 34, the actual temperature would have been lower than 40. Of course, the lower you set it, the more power it consumes. So if power is an issue for you, strike a balance. I donโt think the digital display on the front accurately reflects the temperature inside, so I would recommend using something like my Govee to make sure you get a better reading. The compressor ran for about 4 to 5 minutes every 20 minutes, almost like clockwork. And on the ECO setting, it draws only about 3.5 amps. Less than I expected. And itโs pretty quiet. I could certainly sleep next to it. On a 90-degree afternoon, I decided to try it as a freezer. I set it for zero, and let it cool down. It took a long time, but I neglected to get the exact time. In my shop (at 78 degrees) it got down to 5 degrees. Thatโs as low as it would go. At that temperature, the compressor runs continuously, so bear that in mind. I loaded it in the back of my car, plugged it into the cigarette lighter socket, and drove 30 minutes to the supermarket. I bought ten pints of ice cream. (I know, but I wanted to make it worth my while.) On the 30 minute drive back home the fridge maintained 8 degrees. So you could use it as a freezer, but Iโm not sure I would recommend it. I donโt know if itโs a good idea to let the compressor run continuously like that. It comes with a basket for the main section. Iโll probably look around for a basket for the smaller section. Otherwise anything you store up there is just going to fall into the main section. For best results, chill everything you want to put in it in advance in your regular fridge. Once you have it full and down to 40 or so, then you can put a few cans of room temperature soda in it and it wonโt matter. All things considered, I am really happy with it, and would absolutely recommend it.

Love it so far
Honestly this would not of been my first choice for a refrigerator but it goes in the back of a Jeep JL . A refrigerator opening long ways would not have worked in my situation. It fits perfectly, on the passenger side, behind the rear seats. I love that you can open the lid both ways. It will fully open towards the middle and almost fully open towards the window. Looks great and well built. I run it using a 1000 watt battery. In 70 to 80 degree temps I get 3 1/2 days before I need to recharge, if I don't charge while driving. Temp seems to be accurate. A great size for road trips or overlanding.

ICECO VL60 Pro Series - Highly recommended off grid fridge
This fridge has been fantastic! I love the functionality of the lid to open from either side, or be completely removed. The fridge comes with a few additional replacement parts (corner bumpers, drain plug, and extra carry handle). Nice to know IF any of these parts ever fail, I have a backup. I had one of the hinge pieces crack after a year or so of use, and customer service has been helpful in getting me a replacement. I highly recommend the ICECO products. Update 3/31/2026: I recently encountered another issue, which has been identified likely as a problem with the compressor. I contacted ICECO customer service, and after exchanging a few emails to troubleshoot, they have offered to replace the unit. Iโve had a few issues in 3 years of owning this fridge; however, I continue to be extremely satisfied with the ICECO brand - I donโt expect these types of products to be bulletproof, and a portable fridge being shuffled around outdoors, being exposed to elements, and put through the paces is bound to have some issues.. ICECOโs customer service thus far has been amazingly responsive and resolves issues quickly.

VL60ProS & ICECO Update: Best Customer Care
UPDATE: I really wish I had more time to write this, maybe I will add to it in the upcoming weeks. ICECO has been the greatest pleasure to work with. I had some areas of concern with the unit's lid and ICECO has 100% resolved this issue, and not only have they made it right for me, they have also updated the design on all new batches. The new lid is absolutely great, higher quality, and much more rigid. Its hard to find companies that will work with a small customer like myself and resolve real problems. I will post some new pictures and add to this as I get time. All in all, I am 100% confident in buying another ICECO product. In fact, with the new updates done to the VLPro Series I think this unit is superior to some of the other overpriced and popular brands out there. ICECO, you get 5+ stars from me. Original First Overview: I love my VLPro60, so far I've only had it for about a month and used it a handful of times for camp and day trips to the beach. I run it off of a Jackery 500 solar battery station. The fridge is build to last! I honestly expected to get something feeling a little cheaper, but as it turns out the thing was built to last. Power consumption is LOW. Much lower than any of the cheap knock off fridges you can find for cheap on Amazon. I would stay far away from those and save up a bit more to get ICECO.

Great customer support once you get someone!
*****UPDATE 8/28/2026****** I'm updating my original review because I believe it's only fair to recognize good customer service when a company steps up. After posting my original review, sending a third follow-up email, and leaving a voicemail, I finally received a callback that same evening from Hayden with ICECO Technical Support. He followed up with an email and scheduled time the next day to troubleshoot the refrigerator with me over the phone. Rather than treating this as a generic warranty claim, Hayden took the time to review all of the troubleshooting I had already performed, had me open the refrigerator, inspect specific components, send photos of the internal electronics, and walked through the diagnostics step by step. Based on what we found, he determined the Power Control Module and Control Board were the most likely causes and immediately shipped both replacement parts. I received tracking information on August 10th and had the parts in hand by August 13th. What impressed me the most was that ICECO only provides a one-year warranty on electronic components (the compressor is covered for five years), yet Hayden still sent both replacement parts to me at no charge. That level of support was unexpected and greatly appreciated. I installed the new parts on August 15th, and the refrigerator has been running flawlessly ever since. I'm updating my rating from 2 stars to 4 stars because of Hayden's outstanding technical support and ICECO's willingness to stand behind their product even after the standard parts warranty had expired. The only reason I'm not updating this to 5 stars is because of how difficult it was to initially reach technical support. It took multiple emails, multiple follow-ups, and a voicemail before I was connected with the right person. Once I reached Hayden, everything moved quickly. Within a week, the diagnostics were completed, replacement parts were shipped, and I had the refrigerator repaired. If ICECO improves their initial customer support process by making it easier to reach a live technical support representative, I genuinely believe they'll become one of the strongest brands in this market. They make an excellent refrigerator, and I'm looking forward to getting it back in my 4Runner and out on the trails again. ******************** I purchased the VL60 ProS on November 24, 2022, and it has been a great upgrade over my old Yeti cooler. The refrigerator is well built, cools quickly, and has performed reliably on numerous camping trips. Up until last month, I would have given it a full 5-star rating. Unfortunately, the refrigerator suffered what appears to be an intermittent electrical failure after approximately four months of continuous use in my 4Runner. It suddenly stopped cooling overnight while connected to my Bluetti, which began reporting a "004 - DC Output Short Circuit" error. After extensive troubleshooting, I ruled out the Bluetti, or a shorted DC cable, and confirmed the issue occurs on two separate 12V power sources. I verified the refrigerator still cools normally on AC once it powers up. Based on the testing, the issue appears to be somewhere in the refrigerator's electrical system rather than the compressor itself. The reason this review is 2 stars instead of 5 isn't simply because the refrigerator failed. Electronics can fail. The bigger issue has been the complete lack of customer support. On July 18, 2026, I sent ICECO a detailed email documenting the failure, covering all the troubleshooting I had already completed. Since then, I have sent two follow-up emails and called the customer support phone number, where I reached only a voicemail with no identifying information and have yet to receive a return call. As of the date of this review, almost three weeks have passed without any response. I'm still hopeful ICECO will eventually respond and stand behind their product. If they do, I'll gladly update this review to reflect that experience. However, until then, I can't recommend spending this much money on a refrigerator if there is no timely technical support available when something goes wrong.

Versatile, efficient and just badass
This thing has been incredibly reliable and very easy to use. Plug it into my truck via AC plug while driving to camp, then once we get to the site, we switch to DC using the portable DC bank. The most I've seen this thing draw at once is 45W, but once it gets cold it goes between 30 and 10W, so its super efficient. Love the lid system that can open from either side of just remove the whole lid - This is especially useful when loading initially. Had an issue with the fridge after awhile of using it and ICECO customer service was very responsive and was able to fix the issue within a few days. Highly recommend this unit (VL60 PRO).

Great product and service
Great cooler, gets really cold and fits a ton of bottles and cans for parties. Also great customer service, very responsive, courteous and technically knowledgable. I'll consider ICECO products first for all things cooling.

Worth its price!
We ordered the ICECO for several reasons -- 1) Our son is an exhaustive researcher and ordered one for himself, in part because its compressor is the most highly rated available. He uses it on AC at home for extra refrigerator/freezer space; or for camping, evacuation, or power outages when he will use DC. He's very happy with it; we ordered the same model for ourselves. 2) We are off grid solar and wanted the option of extra refrigerator or freezer space, whether we're home (we run it on AC at home) or camping where we will use 12 volt DC from a solar panel. I made a mega shopping trip today and loved having the ICECO for extra refrigerator space.
