I was desperate to get rid of the biofilm and had tried MANY products before, none of which worked. After reading reviews of Enluxtra I had very high hopes and expectations that this product would be the solution to my problem. However, approximately 8 to 10 hours after my first application of Enluxtra, the wound became very itchy! At first I thought it must be a healing itch so I left it intact for about another 3 hours. By this time, I couldn’t take the itch anymore and took down the dressing. The wound was now inflamed and so was the surrounding skin. It looked angry and was painfully sore! I have not used any more of the Enluxtra that I bought! Such a waste of money and sooooooooo disappointing. I don’t think I’d recommend any one to use it and I’m a registered nurse! What you do is you pour it onto the slough or ulcer do not overdo it just where it sticks to the slough like a layer. You spread it out evenly like use a Q-tip & shake off the rest whatever sticks is how much you need. For results check on it every 6 hours. You may see a greenish blob which is good just keep doing it clean it off & start again & when it starts to bleed that is a good sign, not a bad sign. Ask the dr if it is ok to disturb the primary dressing. If it is, change everything when it gets wet from drainage. Otherwise just change the absorbant enluxtra.
