First off these lights are UL LISTED!Very important for any electrical products to be tested and certified! Next, these are LED so you get low operating cost, low maintenance, low heat output, longer strings on a circuit vs incandescent. These lights are pvc coated for use in damp locations. I would highly recommend GFCI protection if used outdoors. This is a code requirement. For those that don't know this stands for ground fault circuit interrupter. It will trip if there is a ground fault. Potentially saving someone or pet from shock or electrocution. This is what I did with mine as I have them running inside crown molding around a screened in porch. The color is great, the quality is great. Another thing if you are looking for an additional way to mount these lights I purchased the industrial strength double sided Velcro on Amazon and they work like a charm. Just be sure to keep your strings all facing the same direction for the most even light output across adjacent surfaces (this can be a little tricky in crown molding or on top of cabinets.). The Velcro really helps with this.
