This is beautifully made. The seat is pretty and has been varnished so that is very smooth and stays clean. This was a replacement for an original one that was exactly the same, installed 12 years ago. The contractor never caulked around it so the screws into the wall corroded and the seat had to be broken off from the wall to be replaced. This replacement fit the set up exactly the same as the original. But this one is actually made better than the last one. This is one case or a product was actually improved rather than dummy down.

Chose this for a bathroom renovation. Can't comment on the ease of install because our contractor installed it. We bought it ahead of time so he could construct a suitable behind the wall support. It's a piece of 2x10 attached between 2 studs. You probably want something sturdy like that because this is not a cheap, lightweight unit. Materials, build, and finish are quite good. It's only been in place a couple of months but I feel like it will last.

I had a seat bought 2 years ago and the wall mount brackets were made out of a forged material. The brackets rotted and started to push the covers and the seat away from the wall. I ordered a replacement due to the fact that I had holes drilled in the wall. I figured I'd paint the brackets before installing. To my suprize the replacement seat brackets had been replaced with a stainless steel brackets. Much nicer. I purchased another for my other bathroom.

It is a really nice shower seat. But to install you must, of course, drill through your tile. Which can be tricky. I made sure I had solid blocking installed for the seat and grab bars when I had everything tore apart. So everything is nice and sturdy. I weigh around 170 pounds and it holds me fine. 300 seems excessive, but I guess its possible. We'll have to see how the finish on the teak holds up, but I guess you can always keep reapplying teak oil.

Great customer service. I ordered this seat and it had a slight defect. They mailed me a new one before I even returned the first one. Have not installed it yet but the quality seems top notch.

I have to say it the first time on Amazon that a product exceeded my expectation. Even the thickness of the wood is awesome. My first test was a man 280 pounds and it didn’t failed. Just make sure that you have solid support and the product will do the rest.
