Do I need to prepare the screws by myself?

No, it comes with all the thing you need.

Would fragile glasses get chipped by the metal?

I really don’t see how that would happen. They have a nice smooth surface. We really enjoy ours and how they look.

Can you mount this inside your kitchen cabinets?

Yes, make sure that the frame of your cabinet doesn't extend below the level of area you are mounting the rack if you want to use the very top of the cabinet.

What is the distance from the front screw to the back screw?

8 1/2 " from screw to screw front to back. I have 9 large wine glasses on my rack. Smaller glasses , I would say at least 12 or more. Or even a mix with flute glasses.
