Review: Works great, but it is loud to run. - I’ve owned this product for 8 1/2 years now. It’s always worked great. I stopped using batteries because it does consume the batteries very quickly. Now I use a power bank and a USB cable to run the fan and that works perfectly . The only complaint I have is that it is loud. It rattles quite a bit. It’s easily adaptable to any grill so that is a plus. The size in the product is also a plus.

This is a great tool, I just wish the chimney was more durably designed to use with this (rust after 1 use) and you can only use it for 3 minutes per chimney instructions. I got the XL (chimney) to light lots of charcoal, but can't get a great ember for the whole chimney, (it does say to not over load it). Perhaps I just need to go back to more time and my paraffin and sawdust starters. I will try again at some point and will update if there's improvement or a different system proves more successful.

**Q: Does this light the fire or do I still need a chimney?**
A: The BBQ Dragon is just a variable speed fan that'll greatly increase air flow to your combustibles. i.e. no heatYou don't need the chimney but it would certainly speed up the briquette light time.

**Q: Why do you advertize "no more lighter fluid" when the instructions still say you need lighter fluid? I returned mine after reading that those "harmful chemicals" were still needed to light the charcoals**
A: Gosh I hate to hear you returned yours because we have one and I NEVER use lighter fluid.  I agree with you about those harmful chemicals and don't want to use them either.  While I can't speak to the instructions (I threw them out) I can say with confidence that you will have absolutely NO trouble starting your fire without the use of lighter fluid using the BBQ Dragon.  Reorder, you won't regret it.

**Q: I have to be missing something here, please explain how blowing cool air at the coals ignites them ??**
A: Blowing air at a piece of coal won't ignite it.You light the coal then use this to blow air on it. Adding oxygen to a fire makes it burn hotter. Fire needs air to burn. If you blow on a burning coal it will get more air and burn hotter.

**Q: how noisy is it?  Im looking for a small adjustable portable blower to use in art projects would this work or is it loud like a blow dryer?**
A: It definitely has an audible whine (that gets louder as you adjust the speed up) so the following statement does not suggest that it is quiet:  It is quieter than a hair dryer.More importantly, I don't think this is what you are looking for to dry an art project.  This is more about the volume of air and less about the velocity.  It doesn't actually move air that fast, it's about providing fuel/air to a fire.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Plastic switch breaks easily

***Update**** Updating from 2 stars to 5 stars for great customer service. I contacted customer service and told them about the problem my dad and I had with the fan. They responded to me the same day and I had a tracking number for the two replacements by the next day. I have already received the new fans and am very happy with how they backed their product. Thank you for restoring my faith in your company. I am glad to have the new fans because I really like the concept and it speeds up my charcoal lighting process so much. The fan also really helps with re-lighting the leftover coals I have from previous cooks. I really liked this fan and used it with the BBQ dragon chimney. Unfortunately, after only using it a few times, the plastic switch broke and it would not turn off unless I took out the batteries. I had purchased the fan and chimney for my father as well. On a recent visit, he told me that his plastic switch broke and had the same issue. I really like the convenience of starting my charcoal quickly, but the quality of the construction is not quite there yet. We'll see if customer service does anything for me or not.
