Out of Sight, Out of Time (Gallagher Girls, 5)

The last thing that Cammie Morgan remembers is leaving Gallagher Academy at the beginning of the summer. People kept getting hurt because of her, and Cammie couldn't live with that. So she set out to find some answers and maybe to even find the Circle of Cavan before they found her. But when wakes up in an alpine convent months later, she realizes that she can't remember what she did last summer. In fact, the only indications that anything happened to Cammie at all are her weight loss, different hair color, and many bruises. Once safely back home at the Academy, Cammie has more questions than ever, and she's sure that there's much more at stake to finding those answers than just her sanity. So, once again, Cammie finds herself on the other side of the world, though with her friends for backup, struggling to piece together the clues she left behind the last time she was there. But with the Circle in pursuit, Cammie is running out of time--she can only hope she's not too late. It's no secret that I have been a huge fan of the Gallagher Girl series from the very beginning, and I just love how Carter has taken an idea that seemed to be just fun and espionage and turned it into something as dark and twisted as Out of Sight, Out of Time. This book has it all, including amnesia, conflicting loyalties, long buried secrets, surprising connection, and double and triple agents. All of this ensures that the plot will be action-packed, engaging, and entertaining. I was thoroughly enthralled with each new clever twist in the plot. In addition to that, though, I also loved how Carter touched on Cammie's changing relationships with those around her, especially her best friends, her mother, and Zach, her sometimes-maybe-boyfriend. With such vivid characters, an exciting and completely riveting plot, and such intrigue, it's clear that Out of Sight, Out of Time is another perfect read from Carter and a clear indication that the Gallagher Girl series just keeps getting better. Fans of the Gallagher Girl series will not want to miss its thrilling fifth installment.

Cammie Morgan hasn't had the most normal childhood. It doesn't help that she grew up attending a school for spies, but the real hardship is her father's disappearance. When a covert group called the Circle of Cavan attacks Cammie, she made a huge decision: her friends and family would never be safe with the Circle after her. The only way to keep them safe was to leave the Gallagher Academy. In Ally Carters fifth Gallgher Girls book, Out of Sight, Out of Time, we see Cammie grappling with the consequences of that decision. Cammie wakes up in a convent in the Alps with no idea of how she got there. Even worse, she finds out she has been missing all summer, and she has no memories of anything since she left the school. She calls her mother and Aunt who come to get her and bring her back to the school, but her loss of memories isn't the only thing plaguing Cammie: the Circle is still out there and they aren't going to rest until they get what they want from her. Despite everyone's insistence that she not try to recover her memories, Cammie needs to know what happened in the months she lost. No one at the school trusts her anymore, even her own mother and friends. She starts losing time and doing things unconsciously, like putting together an assault rifle without even knowing how she learned to do so. The only thing Cammie can be sure of anymore is that the memories of summer hold huge secrets, and she isn't afraid to go digging. This middle reader series has seriously grown up since its first book. This book is the most adult book, in terms of seriousness, not inappropriate content, so far. It really gets to the scary and ugly side of being a spy, which is something that has been sort of glossed over so far. The evolution of Cammie is pretty impressive, and I think readers can grow up along side her character. She has made great sacrifices to protect her friends and family, but the idea that those people would literally put themselves in grave danger to protect her is the most comforting and scariest thought Cammie has ever had. But that is what people who love you do! This started out a middle reader series, and while still appropriate for middle readers, it is also great for any kid who has transitioned more into the young adult age group but still read the early books in the series. They won't be disappointed as the story gets darker and more serious, and neither will you. It is a great series and although Carter claims to only have one more book planned, I hope she continues the series!

This is the perfect book it's got action, romance what isn't good about a book with action and romance the book just calls u and makes u want to read even move in the period of five days I've read five of the Gallagher series an I love it. This is for girls out there who get board this book is amazing the only thing is that I would love to hear about josh I want to be able to read about him an if he and deede are still going out I want to see josh reaction because of when I saw cammie and zach almost kissing I want a little more suspense I want to see zach reaction to cammie meeting josh I want bed and Liz to fall in love I want there to be a kind of spark some sizzle because if there is I promise everyone that book will be number one I will even advertise. I started reading this books and everyone in my school is buying the. Well not everyone but u know what I mean I'm giving this book four stars because there is no sizzle no spark and I hope the next book is wonderful thanks I'll post again

I was SO SAD when I finished Out of Sight, Out of Time by Ally Carter because I know I have to wait ages for the next Gallagher Girls book and I devoured this one in a matter of hours! BUT that so sadness is a fab thing because it means Out of Sight, Out of Time was absolutely awesome! Just as all things Ally Carter are. I will admit I was a little lost when I started reading Out of Sight, Out of Time because it's been ages since I read the previous Gallagher Girls book, Only the Good Spy Young. Luckily enough it worked out pretty well because Cammie was totally lost too! So it was kind of a lot fun figuring out what on earth Cammie had been up to all those months along with Cammie. AND THE ACTION. Out of Sight, Out of Time really kicks it up a notch with gun fights and explosions and jetting off to foreign countries and what not. Not a single down moment. You'd think it could kind of drag a little, what with Cammie being memory-less, but Ally Carter didn't let that stop her from getting stuff done. I won't get into the plot too much - I don't want to spoil anything, but man, Ally Carter is excellent at taking little things from previous books and making them into huge things later on! There were lots of twists too. I kind of guessed at them, well - I noticed the offness about some events and then ended up being right. Would that make me a good spy? HAH. And there was this one moment where I kind of teared up a little. My only complaint - not enough kissing! Guys, if you loved all the previous Gallagher Girls books, you are going to LOVE Out of Sight, Out of Time. Ally Carter delivers an excellent segment in the series and I cannot wait until the next book, whenever that may be. If you, for whatever reason, haven't read this series, go now. I won't speak to you until you've done so!

Emphasis on tween. So, if you are older than, say, 13, this probably isn't for you. But oh my ne gouta, this is so great for those 10 to 13. This is a pretty light read, more funny than serious, with some suspense and romance sprinkled on top. The first book is pretty much a light funny read about how the main character, Cammie, is trying to date a normal boy without her spy and headmistress mom finding out. Like other series I've read, the first book is more of a Stand-alone, but in the next book you find out more about the overall series plot. For this particular book, I love the (MINOR SPOILERS) way her amnesia is still in effect even after she finds out what happened in the time she can't remember. I also love the way you can see the hypnosis by Dr. Steve take effect from Cammie's first person POV. At first you don't really know what's going on, but then you are eased into the "oh, wait, she's being hypnotized My friend and I basically read these books together. Ally Carter is my favorite YA author, and sometimes when you have a favorite author, you expect their books to be so amazing that the book is often a letdown. That is NOT the case with the latest addition in the Gallagher Girls series. Book five takes a darker twist than the earlier books as Cammie struggles to find out what happened to her the last four months, the time she spent on a mission to find out what the Circle wanted from her and what exactly happened to her father. The time she can no longer remember. The time that somehow changed her from a regular spy to one who can put together weapons she had not seen before and point a gun at someone without thinking twice. This book delves deeper into Cammie's character, and I enjoyed seeing a character I've liked for years grow up into a strong and resilient senior who is no longer a chameleon but a fighter. The action in the book is more intense as secrets are revealed...secrets that go well beyond the characters in the book. The romance is prevalent in this book. I don't want to give away too much, but it's there and readers will be happy with it. This fifth installment will satisfy readers yet leave them wanting book six to come out tomorrow! As I always say, there are two things I love about Carter's books. First, you can tell she takes her time writing and editing. Each little plot thread weaves together to make the overall book perfect. Second, the girls, while obviously fictional, are good examples of strong, intelligent girls. In my opinion as a librarian, today's YA needs more characters like them.

The first four Gallagher Girl books were fun. Light. Fluffy. Easy reads (this is not a criticism). GREAT concept that was solidly done. Some characterization and surprises, but you generally knew what was coming. And then Out of Sight, Out of Time. Wow. What a great twist right from the start, and it just builds on itself in ways that really develop the lead character. Maybe it was just me but I didn't see it coming in this type of series. The whole book felt more serious--more grownup--while still keeping the same kind of tone and humor. You could nitpick. The climactic "battle" with the bad guys at the end....so-so. The supporting characters remains the same for the most part, but what does it matter? It's all about Cammie, and she's able to carry the story well. I suppose I would really give it 4 1/2 stars as opposed to 5, but that's more nitpicking. Great, unexpected and very worthy conclusion to a fun series.

This was a serious page turner for me. I couldn't put this one down. I've enjoyed all of the books so far. This one is by far my favorite. I cannot wait to read the next one. In fact, I'm off to read it now!

My niece loved the book!

カミーが記憶喪失になった状況からストーリーが始まります。 そして今回はカミーの父親の所在がはっきりします。 舞台はローマやアイルランドに飛び、学校内での話はごくわずかです。 今までのような学校生活の話はありませんでした。 予想外の展開や新事実も多く、作者のすごさを感じました。 ただザックが目立った活躍をしていないので カミーにとって彼がどのような存在なのか分かりませんでした。 正直なところ今回ザックはいなくてもよかったように思えます。 今までの彼はもっと頼りになる存在でしたのに。 内容はとてもよく作られていておもしろかったですが、 明るく楽しい学校内でのエピソードがなくて残念でした。

My girls love this series.

It's a gorgeous book I love it. Some People think that the End of the book is a little bit bad but I don't think so!!!

I am an avid reader of the Gallagher Girls series and so when this book that I had pre-ordered arrived a few days early I was extremely happy! and of course this book did not disappoint. I'm wondering if this book even has a boring chapter, one of those chapters that is not needed like many other books but this book honestly has action throughout and every single word in this book is the lead up to something exciting! I loved the way the author handled Cammie's memory loss, the way we were finding out with Cammie what had happened to her really worked and made the reader really relate to Cammie because we are in the dark as well and I loved discovering what happened to Cammie at the same time she does. Ally Carter really handled some key aspects and themes in these books especially in relation to Cammie's mind where Ally seemed to really know what she was talking about. I really like the way a lot of background characters really seemed to come out of themselves such as Rachel Morgan who really took a big role in this book which seemed to pay off. Zach is also a key element in this book which I'm sure many people will enjoy! I also love the way Ally can make the reader hate a character one second and then love them the next which is especially key to Bex in this story who also takes on a lead role. I would defiantly recommend this book, but I think fairly obviously you HAVE to have read the other books first, I honestly couldn't imagine reading this without having the background knowledge of the previous books. This book is defiantly darker than the previous, everything Cammie goes through is complexed and I loved the way Cammie appears to be lost as much as the reader is and how well you can relate to Cammie, as I said before it really is non-stop action whereas the other books have been more of a lead up to an exciting event. My only criticism is that the next book in the series is over a year away and of course Ally Carter had to leave us on another cliff hanger! But if this book is anything to go by then it will be worth the wait!
