This is what I would call a medium size, it’s definitely big enough for a lot of steaming needs. It even seems bigger than other single item steamers I’ve seen. I wanted something a little bigger to fit a specific warming pad that I wanted to try steaming to heat. I haven’t used it for that yet but I have used it to reheat food and to steam green beans. It works really well for its intended purpose.

A: This positively does NOT work on induction cook top!  It is not magnetic.  I still tested it and it does NOT work.  Nice pot otherwise.

**Q: What are the inner diameter for the steamer basket?**
A: 8 inches

**Q: Do the handles stay cool?**
A: No..  You still need oven mitts

**Q: What is "Encapsulated stainless steel base"?**
A: It means a layer or disc of aluminum is sandwiched between the steel, since stainless steel is a bad conductor of heat, your food would burn and stick to pan if the aluminum wasn't there.
