Cold Brew Coffee System

I saw a few ads on Facebook for the BRU Cold Brew Coffee System so I decided to check it out. I've never had cold brewed coffee so it was all pretty foreign to me but the idea was interesting. I love coffee, probably too much and I am forever forking my hard earned cash over to Starbucks because those Frappuccinos are my weakness.Brookstone carries the BRU system but I managed to find it on here for just a few bucks cheaper and with Prime, it would be here way sooner so I did the smart thing and ordered from Amazon. I was also able to get a warranty for a couple bucks which set the price right where Brookstone had it. Not bad at all!The packaging is really nice. Metallic copper on matte black, very eye catching! It pretty much explains everything right on the box too which is nice.It shows the 3 different brewing options (Light, Medium, and Bold) and the set brewing times for each of them.Fill, Twist, and Drip. The basics!Included in the box:Lid, 14oz water reservoir, lock chamber, 50 diffuser papers, Bru dial, grounds cone, stability ring, coffee stand (to prevent spills), Tritan tumbler, pop fit lid, and Tritan straw,The instructions are pretty straightforward though it could take a few tries to find your perfect brew.My first batch wasn't all that amazing, quite bitter but it was easily masked with almond milk and some xylitol sweetener.The best part is you can use any ground coffee you want so you do not have to go out and spend extra money on fancy coffee grounds.I definitely recommend the BRU Cold Brew Coffee System!

Really wanted to like this but I'm really disappointed. Set up is not as simple like I thought it would be. The part that dissaponts the most is the brewing. I have wasted coffee grounds, and gotten really really weak coffee. I Followed instructions to brew and coffee is super light at the heavy brew setting (took over 12 hours to brew when it says 10 hours). I looked at the coffee grounds in the bottom pod and the middle was still dry. The water completely went around and only brewed the outer. Picture included.

I recently started drinking cold brew coffee shortly after March. I had originally purchased a cold brew kit from Goodwill which consisted of a small glass pitcher and a filtered column in which to pour coffee grounds. I liked the way the coffee came out when using that set up, but since I like to try new things I purchased this when I was at T.J.Maxx because it was on clearance for $3. I have used it once and used the settings that is the favorite of the employees of the manufacturer oh, and that produced too bitter about coffee for me.. The coffee grounds that I'm using are the Kroger Brand donut shop in the red Box. I haven't used this a second time because I can't seem to get the water out from between the clear part that you pour the water in and the bottom section that helps control the drip. I am afraid to remove the bottom plastic part has the instructions don't mention anything about it. It kind of grosses me out that this water is stuck in here. I think I'm just going to stick with my original set up.

Worked great for a couple weeks. Now the top leaks out around the grounds so either water spills out over the side, or you get a half coffee, half water solution in your cup. Leaks so much even on the "slowest brew" setting (which should take 10-12 hours) it gets finished in about 10 minutes. Pretty useless at this point. at least the cup still works to drink out of.

It really cool because you get it ready the night before, leave it in the fridge to drip, then you have a large iced-coffee waiting for you when you head out the door in the morning. Would have given 5 stars but getting the drip rate just right can be tiresome.

I purchased this for a cold brew coffee lover for Christmas. He LOVES it! He said it is very simple to use and loves the result.

Deeply disappointed. Stopped working after three uses. Bought a while back but didn’t open it. I moved recently and opened this week. Not hard to use, washes easily, works fast. Fourth time it just wouldn’t work. I was upset and threw out most parts and box. Tonight I remembered I had a service contract through Amazon. A true waste of money. I’m hesitant to try another brand

Love this cup. So smart. I love Ice Coffee and would spend about $4 or $7 Dunkin/Starbucks for this. Now I am saving so much making my own. And I get to make it exactly how I love it.Was a little getting use to use but easy.
