I bought this as a bed/couch for a basement guest bedroom. It went together in just under an hour, which would have been faster/easier with two people. The instructions were clear and all the hardware was well labelled and packaged individually in blister packs.The frame is heavy duty and looks great. The mattress (which comes rolled up in it's own box) is comfortable for both sitting and sleeping. The folding part wants to spring back open, so you might want to get a non-slip pad for it.Transition from couch to bed is easy. Going from bed to couch is a little more difficult. Also keep in mind that you'll have to pull the couch away from the wall before converting it into a bed.Overall it's a piece I'd recommend.

Beautiful piece of furniture!! Great quality and easy directions/assembly, and super easy to switch from couch to bed/vice versa. Rating 4 stars because, as I've seen on other sites, the frame is much more gray than brown as was the mattress, and because the hardware was broken open and missing a 2 critical parts. Fortunately I was able to pick up similar hardware at Home Depot to make it work since I didn't care to call customer service for a single bolt and nut. Love it - so happy with my purchase!

I'm beyond happy with this great piece of furniture. It's beautiful, arrived quicker than expected, and I love it. The wood is high quality and the craftsmanship top-notch. I did have a few issues putting it together, my own fault for not reading the directions more carefully. For those of you who may be similarly inclined, note that part #7 has to go in a certain way so the rubber stoppers are toward the front spreader bar or it will not stay in place as a lounger or couch. Once put together correctly it's operation is simpler than other futons I've seen, which is also great.

We ordered 2 identical futons on the Oak frame. The directions and parts were very clearly labeled and understandable. We had both put up and together in one evening. They are the current sitting furniture in my upstairs living room, and I absolutely LOVE them! I cannot sing their praises more! My parents are even going to be ordering when they get their living room remodeled, they were so impressed. The mattresses are firm, but soft. It is clear they will last for years to come. Kodiak furniture is the manufacturer and they seriously do great work!

I'm very happy with this purchase. It took my husband less than 2 hours to put it together. The wrinkles you see in the flat photo shortly disappeared. This futon is very comfortable as a couch. We have not had anyone sleep on it overnight yet but bought it for Thanksgiving when extra family will arrive. I looked at SO many tailored sharp-looking futons, but the reviews were terrible. This is in my home office as an extra bed, and I wanted it to be comfortable when we did need it. So happy with my choice. Yes, the frame is sort of a grey color as other reviewers said. Therefore it goes with the mattress I chose!

Once assembled the futon looks quite nice is comfortable, and seems to be very sturdy. BUT..., assembly took a very qualified friend about 3 hours. He said that the instructions were clear and easy to follow, but three hours ! This is a good deal only for someone who is comfortable around tools. In this day and age of easy assemble I truly think that this is a 1-2 star knock on the review. Additionally there should be a special place in hell for people who put really hard to remove stickers that will need to be removed. Conclusion- if you are really comfortable with assembly, this will work for you. If not avoid like a plague.

This is a good piece of furniture. It was pretty easy to assemble with a little trouble. I do find it is very hard to open and close it without the assistance of another person.The mattress is VERY firm. So if that’s not what you’re looking for, I’d go with another option.All in all it’s pretty decent but def shouldn’t have been a $500 purchase.

Very nice looking futon. Took at least a few hrs time to assemble the frame. Really heavy duty, good quality wood(frame). The mattress is not the most comfortable though, but still not bad. In the pic the mattress looks a lot thicker than it really is. My old couch was defiantly softer and more comfortable. So as long as you like a firm mattress you'll like this. Looks great and so far I like it a lot.
