This particular ¿L¿ shaped Gas Port cleaning tool is an original Poly Technologies part that shipped with the AKS-762, AK47/S and all other PolyTech AK variants. After several rounds of firing, the AK47 is known to leave carbon build-up and fouling in the gas port. The gas port is a small hole drilled in the barrel and allows the gas blow-back to release into the gas tube assembly and cycle the AK-47 rifle. If the hole is plugged your AK rifle will not cycle correctly. The gas port tool is inserted into the port and rotated in a clock-wise direction. The fluted channels scrape the carbon build-up without damaging the gas port itself, and remove the carbon with ease. It is recommended that you do not oil any part of the gas system on your AK-47 weapon. The tool can also be used for removing other residue or carbon build-up in the chamber and bolt area of your PolyTech AK47 or most other AK variants. The Original PolyTech AK-47 and SKS parts listed by Kengs Firearm Specialty (KFS Industries Inc.) are NOS (New Old Stock) originally manufactured by Poly Technologies, Inc. of China between 1985 and 1989. These were produced at Chinese State Arsenals 416 and 386 during that time. The Poly Technologies AK-47 varient has the same specifications of the Chinese Type 56. Some PolyTech parts should be compatible with Norinco and later production MAK-90 rifles. However, only guarantee the proper fit and function of these parts on Original PolyTech rifles imported by Keng's Firearms Specialty, Inc. between 1985 and 1989. Please note that MOST PRC (Chinese) Type 56 pattern AK47 parts are not compatible with Russian, Hungarian, Romanian or Bulgarian manufactured AK47 pattern rifles.
