GENNDY TARTAKOVSKY'S PRIMAL - TALES OF SAVAGERY features a caveman at the dawn of evolution and a dinosaur on the brink of extinction. Bonded by tragedy, this unlikely friendship becomes the only hope of survival in a violent, primordial world. From award-winning director and creator, Genndy Tartakovsky (HOTEL TRANSYLVANIA, Dexter's Laboratory, Samurai Jack), this animated feature is a painting come to life. A beautiful story told through mind-blowing sound design, breathtaking animation, and an original score by composer Tyler Bates (GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY, DEADPOOL 2, JOHN WICK) and art director Scott Willis (MONSTERS VS. ALIENS, HOTEL TRANSYLVANIA 3). Review: Love it - I LOVE this series. I like the first season best, but the second is good too. Review: Life In The Silence - I've never seen a show so confidently stand in its own realm, leave it to the creator of Samurai Jack to conseptualize it. VISUALS: -Gorgeous. Very artisticly expressed and full of emotion and style. AUDIO: -The absence of music is genius, leaving all of the focus on detail sounds of the world. They build one of the strongest atmospheres in television, be it live action or animated. Phenomenal mixing and sound design. STORY: -Very violent, very passionate, this pulpy adventure lightly touches on fantasy in all the right ways, giving more room to have fun with the very charismatic leads. This is a turn the lights off, crank the volume up, get comfortable with your favorite snacks and get immersed in another world that will entertain you with its chacter arcs, danger and endless amounts of blood.

Cinematic animation & great storytelling!
I've long appreciated Genndy Tartakovsky's Samurai Jack series for the ability to stretch the storytelling realm of animation through the keen eye of a master cinematographer. When I learned of Primal, his latest series, I was optimistic. And it's better than I hoped! Masterful storytelling without dialogue. Beautifully animated. A new classic in the Fantasy genre. An oasis of thoughtful, exciting, wonderful, and surprising entertainment in today's desert of mediocrity.

Just awesome! A '2-buddies' story with a difference ...
This is a great, almost iconic, animated series aimed squarely at adults (mostly due its dark tone and the violence of the world the 2 leading characters live in). Genndy Tartakovky is a genius. I would never have thought that an animated drama program without any speaking or subtitle words could be so compelling. And starring a caveman and a dinosaur, no less! I love it. [I didn't like Series 2 as much, or really at all very much - unlike lots of other people ...].

1 Angry Caveman + 1 Angry Dinosaur = 1 Awesome Animated Show!
Great series about a tragedy which forces an animalistic caveman guy to work together with a T Rex like Dinosaur to survive. We get to watch them work out their differences while they set out on an endless adventure across a brutally crazed primal world. It’s beautiful, exciting, gory, touching and tragic… and it has it's funny moments as well. The art style and animation are gorgeous at times and simplistic at others, but never in a bad way, the fight sequences are always brilliant. If you've seen Samurai Jack, you'll know what to expect. This show is absolutely great, it quickly became a favorite of mine as I watched it originally air on Adult Swim... this was a no brainier purchase for me. This the show is a solid 5/5 The flip side of this is, as usual the boneheads at Warner Bros screw up this brilliant release with more silliness. I have reviewed several WB animated releases as they dropped (Rick & Morty S4, Harley Quinn S1&2, and Batman Beyond Complete) and each one of them is flawed in one way or the other. In this case, there are two versions of this release available on Amazon.ca, main difference between them is one includes a digital code (this one) while the other doesn't, it's just the Bluray. There was about a $12 price difference at the time I bought it, I decided to get the more expensive version with the code for easy digital viewing. Unfortunately this code only works in the US... yep, a waste of money and time! So, be warned if you're buying this in Canada, get the cheaper version with no code. In the end Amazon made it right, but still lame that fans have to deal with this stupidity in my opinion! TL:DR: Buy it for the awesome animated show, avoid headaches and buy the cheaper version, ignore this version which includes a US only digital code, if you're in Canada!
