This product is great but it is more involved than your typical hair product. There are a few things that I dont think was on the website description that are listed on the insert inside the products box.One - they recommend using distilled water. This is not something everyone has on hand so it could be inconvenient if you didnt have it.You also have to keep the water that you mix with the powder to a certain temperature in order for it to work the way its supposed to.Also it does NOT lighten your hair, it only adds color. This was ok for me since I didnt want to lighten my hair. They also recommend using their other products along with this to make it work better and Ive seen that with other hair products so its not a big deal.Its also a powder so it can be messy when mixing.Also- the bag was open when I got it so the powder spilled out all over. It was a mess.I dont think this was the companys fault since Amazon smashed the box so they need to be more careful with these types of products. I didnt want to waste my time sending it back but may not order it again for that reason.

Overall I like the quality. But when I order every time I run out of it, it comes opened and products details are all over.

I have dark brown hair with grays and prefer dying black for an even color. I use box kits at home regularly, but wanted to try something healthier for my hair. Because I dye my own hair I have the tools. I have clips/combs/mixing bowls, and even one of those salon bibs that buttons at the neck. I will say the there is a learning curve with using this dye. It is VERY messy to work with. The powder is in a tight bag so be sure to work with a large mixing bowl (that you can still place into another bowl) and cover a large area of your countertop in case any powder gets loose. If any powder gets wet it will stain whatever it’s on instantly. I followed the instructions and mixed the powder to a creamy paste with a whisk. I used filtered hot water from my tea kettle. I also suspended the paste in a bowl of hot water to keep it from cooling. I tried to start with a brush for application, but found it much easier to use my hands. I had sectioned off my hair prior so it was easy to work one section at a time. Also be sure to protect your skin. I covered my neck, hairline, and ears with vaseline prior. This powder will stain everything you love and care about. It is A LOT of paste so after I covered each section I went in and messaged all the remaining product all over. The smell is earthy and you don’t get used to it. Work slowly because I moved too fast and little chunks were all over my floor behind me. After using all of the product, I removed my gloves and placed the cap provided on my head and wrapped it in a towel. I let it sit for 60 minutes while I attempted to clean up. The clean up was frustrating because it felt like it got everywhere. I definitely stained my countertop and bathtub just in rinsing everything off. I’ve never had such a problematic clean up, which is why I'm giving it 4 stars.The good news is the rinse out was fairly quick (although it also contributed to more staining in my tub). I was very worried about the kit not having any hydrating or conditioning product with it, but after rinsing, I worked in some of my olaplex products as normal and brushed. I had one little tangle that quickly brushed out. My hair felt light, and very clean. And currently the coverage is amazing. I don’t see any of the grays I had previously.I will come update as the color develops and I’m also hoping because it’s a natural product that eventually the stains everywhere will fade away. Aside from the mess, which I think I can avoid next time. I’m a happy customer.UPDATE: the color lasted about 4 weeks, but I wash frequently because of workouts. The stains on my countertops also faded over time. I have tried this product a second time and will keep the rating at 4 stars as I really do wish the kit included a conditioner or treatment for after the rinse.UPDATE PT 2 - I've now ordered and dyed my hair with this product at least 4 times if not more. My hair is so healthy and I get compliments on how shiny it is. The process is messy, and after the first rinse my hair feels tangled and impossible to work with, BUT in my latest dye, I let my hair dry as a tangled mess overnight and then worked with it patiently and slowly. I think the negative reviews are fair, but this product can do wonders if you have the patience for it and practice.

The color is nice rich brown but it didn’t cover the roots, leaving half inch of my natural black and gray hair. Although not 100% this is the cause but experienced a bad reaction with rash around neck face and arms the day after I colored my hair. Doctor thinks it was an allergic reaction.

Over time I've started having an allergic reaction to hair color. I was having itching , burning,and serious blistering. This is the ONLY product that I don't have any reaction with. If used correctly the product does an amazing job with color. I can't say enough about it. I use (Blue Black)

I wanted to try an organic product and ordered the primer and the color in dark brown color. Like all henna products definitely was messy and left my hair dry, but also did not cover any grey!! Totally not worth the hype.

I dont write reviews often but I want this company to stay in business for years to come. I have been a henna user for a couple of years as I got greys at a young age. I have black hair which turned Auburn thanks to the henna and I desperately wanted to go back to my dark hair. I tried everything like mixing henna with indigo, coffee, tea, etc but nothing worked until I found Khadi. I feel like I finally look like myself and am so grateful to have found this brand as I am keen on only using natural products. Just make sure to follow all the instructions and use a primer before. I have generic henna at home so I used that instead of their primer recommended. This is definitely a must try brand if you want to stick to natural ingredients to color your hair.

Eco la mia recensione: uso il marrone dorato mescolato con il marrone scuro (in proporzione 3 cucchiai di marrone dorato e 1/2 di marrone scuro), lo lascio su 2 ore e tinge perfettamente i capelli di un castano scuro caldo. La prima volta ero un po' preoccupata, ma adesso mi diverto.Per coprire i malefici capelli bianchi prima faccio un passaggio con henne puro rosso (lawsonia inermis) e lo lascio su 2 ore. I capelli bianchi diventano rossi, quasi arancioni. Per evitare questo colore faccio il secondo passaggio con il mix di castano dorato e marrone scuro. Il risultato è ottimale e va fatto una volta al mese. I capelli bianchi diventano rosso rame scuro, mentre gli altri castano scuro, garantendo una bella stratificazione di riflessi. Dopo il doppio passaggio lavo i capelli con acqua e metto una maschera nutriente, ma non uso lo shampoo se non dopo una settimana, in modo che il colore prenda bene. Bisogna dedicare in totale almeno 5/6 ore, se volete fare il doppio passaggio in un giorno, altrimenti potete dividere in due parti. Prima henne rosso e poi la nuance khadi che avete scelto.Calcolando il costo della tinta dal parrucchiere, che peraltro è chimica e contiene ammoniaca, direi che usare i prodotti Khadi è molto conveniente e non si rovinano i capelli con decolorazioni/colpi di sole/trattamente nocivi.

Trop de contraintes pour l'application et pas un bon rendu sur cheveux blancs... c'est l'expérience du henné qui n'est pas concluante et non la marque khadi
