They are somewhat fragile but because there are so many, you can easily replace what was broken. Two screw-heads broke off while I was screwing the latches on. One of the latch-head broke too, but now after having them installed for a month or more, nothing has broke and they are working well. Hint: Make sure to install both parts of the latch (the hook and the little paired "pocket" for the hook).
