Canvas Messenger Bag - Small Vintage Shoulder Purse Crossbody Satchel

I got the bag and although it has plenty of space there was too much stuff added to the bag that I changed and that was to suit my personal preferences. First I wanted a small messenger bag and the size is perfect but still plenty of room. The things I removed made it more personal for my taste. I removed the overly large name plate on the front of the bag. If the brand name had been much smaller I would have left it, but it is large and really made it look cheap. The next thing I removed on both sides of the bag was the closure flaps and the snap on them. I like to be able to drop my keys in one and don't want or need a closure flap so both of those came off too. I can put a water bottle or a rolled up umbrella in the other side pocket, so no closure flaps needed. Inside the purse I also took off yet another large label that wasn't needed at all. Once I made all my changes I was very happy with the messenger bag. There is a large open pocket on the main body of the front of the bag and later I will probably add a velcrow closure so nothing can fall out. I like to keep pens, a small note book, and other small items in it but that pocket is large enough to put my cell phone in it too. Inside the bag is a zippered compartment that I can put extra money or a check book so they're safe and no one can see them if I'm looking for something when shopping. The main body of the bag is roomy for just about anything I carry. I keep an appointment booklet with my many appointments, my wallet, and other things like a coin change holder and business cards from all my doctors and dentist. All in all, its very well made. I got the brown colored bag and it looks much better to me without all the extra stuff they added to the bag. The cross body strap can be adjusted to what ever length you need and I'm really happy that no shoulder pad was added to the strap. The canvas is a good quality canvas and not too soft like a hobo bag for instance or too hard where it would bee too stiff either. The best part is even with all my stuff in the bag it is not heavy at all and the size is just right for me. I have other messenger bags but all of them are just too big. and really too heavy too. making them feel like a suitcase hanging rom my shoulder.This is a perfect size and weight and without all the "extras froo froo" on the bag it suits me just fine.

I absolutely love this bag! It’s great to take when headed out to the swap meet, hiking or for me I use it everyday! Lots of room, pockets and it’s made very strong! Best thing is it’s the perfect size for me. As for the money, this bag is worth every penny! The style, the color, size, pockets , everything it’s just a great little bag! I would definitely recommend it!!

I just bought this bag and I’m using it for work and I love it so far. It fits more inside it than I thought it would, and can fit my 32oz water bottle inside the main pocket which is great if needed. I love it because it fits everything I had in my other purses plus plenty of extra room for snacks. All the side/front pockets are very roomy and deep so you can fit plenty of things inside them. Hopefully it holds up well over time, I wish they had put some leather or something on the bottom of the bag to make it a little thicker because I am worried it may wear down over time since I will be using this bag daily. So far though I haven’t had any issues with it.

I had low to medium expectations for this bag, but I was pleasantly surprised. The quality is fantastic. The canvas is sturdy and soft. The snaps and zippers are metal and good quality. The main compartment is roomy enough for my needs — I bought a Tenba BYOB 7 camera insert to make a stealthy camera bag — and the three exterior pockets are very useful. There is also a zippered interior pocket for anything valuable like a wallet or keys. The strap, which is not removable, is a nice material and doesn’t slide around while on a shoulder or crossbody. I also think the bag looks really nice, especially in the khaki color I chose. If I had a bit to pick, I wish there was a slash pocket on the rear of the bag, but it’s not a big deal. I’m beyond happy with my purchase and highly recommend this bag to anyone looking for a roomy but compact shoulder/crossbody canvas bag. I would buy another.

We got this bag for my husband a couple of months back because the one he'd been toting around since before we got married had become so tattered it was pretty much only good to be tossed out back and set fire to.So far, he really likes it. He says that he feels the company really did a good job on the stitching, and he says it's a good solid bag. Unlike me, he uses relatively few words.So I'm going to add a few to describe why it's not a 5 star bag. It wasn't waterproof, so he felt the need to purchase 2 containers of otterwax, borrow a friend's heat gun for his waxing of the body of the bag, and then decided we needed our own heat gun with the second container of wax he bought to do the strap. So I feel like if a product leaves one in any way shape or form feeling like they have to improve upon it, it can't be 5 stars. But he's very happy with it, feels it otherwise meets his needs in terms of storage and utility, and has had a blast waxing it.

I had originally canceled the order for this messenger bag. But on second thought, I'll give it a try. I just received it and I am over the top happy with the quality and the looks of this bag. The pictures don't do it justice. The stitching is absolutely precise, the color, quality of the canvas is thick and yet so elegant! I am over the top happy. This bag is nothing but plus, plus. It even has a zipper, many pockets and it looks so fashionable. So you don't have to wear this only as a functional messenger bag. You can look like a top model in a movie on an expedition assignment. I love all the pockets! Get yourself a sophisticated safari hat to match.

This bag is the perfect size to carry mirrorless camera gear while traveling. It is small enough to get into museums and other sensitive venues since it does not appear to have any risk of inadvertently swinging into precious displays, etc. It was allowed into the Neue Galerie in NYC, which is actually why I bought it to begin with.Keep in mind, the bag is not padded, so there is no protection for your gear, but I wear it across my body which keeps it in place, safe, and it can't drop off my shoulder that way. The advantage of no padding is the bag actually holds a lot for its small size, and it's not bulky at all. It feels very comfortable while carrying it. The strap is thin, so I can also carry my camera with my neck strap over it.I believe the bag is not waterproof, so it would be smart to bring some plastic to cover it with if you're going to be out in inclement weather. The only thing I really have to protect are my batteries as my gear is mostly weather resistant.Here's what I fit in when traveling:Olympus M1 Mark2 mirrorless camera with a relatively large lens (oly pro 12-100). This is the perfect travel lens btw.One or two other lenses, such as Olympus 17mm (which is tiny), and maybe a small fisheye or macro lens as well.The bag could hold a second larger lens, such as the oly 75-300 but that does crowd the bag a bit.I carry a 16.9 oz. (500mL) water bottle in one end pocket, and my sunglass case in the other end. These fit snugly with no chance of inadvertently falling out.The center front pocket holds extra batteries for my M1, and these are pretty chunky. I can carry 4-5 batteries with no problem. More if I pushed it.The inside pocket easily holds a 12 compartment memory card case and it zips for a bit of added security.Typically I have some paperwork with me, or a steno sized notebook set in the bag vertically. The bag accommodates this well.Overall I find this bag nearly perfect. Other bags I have purchased are very bulky, or don't have any way to carry water, sunglasses, etc, as they are sized only for camera gear. If I want to carry more gear, tripod, etc. I use my Tenba messenger style camera bag which I also like, but it is much more bulky than this bag.

This is quality gear, & the price is certainly reasonable. I purchased the olive brown model. I see what "InMyOpinion" meant by relocating the front buckles. This would be especially true if, like mine, the pouch isn't filled to capacity. I'll leave the buckles alone for now, but I'm in the process of implementing a couple of simple modifications for my use.(1) The convenient front open pocket under the outside flap can pose some security issues especially for smaller items. Even with the outer flap closed, an accidental drop, for example, could mean those items could fly out & be lost. A zipper would be ideal, but I've planned to install a couple of magnets to at least help hold the pocket's top closed yet allow for easy, repetitive access.(2)The zipper ends of the bag's main area are left disconnected from the pouch sides. I'm not certain as to why this was done, but I've sewn the ends' zipper fabric to the sides. While the main compartment isn't completely sealed, it's more secure than it originally was. It doesn't adversely affect compartment use & the entire pouch unexpectedly has a bit more structure to it when sitting in an unsupported manner.This model offers sufficient organisation without overdoing things with numerous pockets. I'm not knocking such additions, but I don't need them for how I use this as my EDC.I plan to waterproof the canvas which ought to enhance content protection. Gootium provides a well-constructed shoulder pouch, & their quality production offers an attractive, casual character with just a hint of vintage military. Shipment was amazingly quick & well packaged also.
