I used it in the oil. Don't know about transmission use.

Yes it can help with transmission noise depending on the actual reason the noise exists. There are a certain number of moving parts within the tranny , and therefore a number of reasons it could be making that sound. If it is an automatic transmission and there is a loud whining noise then typically the transmission itself needs to be either rebuilt or replaced. Torque converter’s within the transmission housing can go bad and when they do they can make that particular type of noise. I would definitely say check your cars Preventive maintenance schedule and check your records as to when the last time you changed your transmission fluid and filter. But the product itself Dura lube is the best on the market for all of its products and what they are designed to do.

Great stuff for in between oil changes.

Works very nicely as a lube. I find it better than lucas oil stuff. But doesn't quiet the engine much. It did quiet a toyota engine i put into to but not the mustang. I suppose like all products, it depends on the cause of the noise. Either way though this product is an awesome additive to your engine. Especially on longer oci and you want something in between changes.
