Louise Davidson always has great local recipes, and Soulful Southern Cooking isn't an exception. This collection contains many recipes I loved as a young adult in Alabama and Florida—things that I have made for my family—but they were never quite right. Thank you, Louise, for running down the exact ingredient listings for these excellent old-fashioned Southern comfort foods. My children and I really appreciate you! This and your Cajun, Louisiana, and Mexican recipes make our life in the New Mexico desert much more interesting!

Fantastic Find!!!
I was born and raised in South Alabama, unfortunately, I didn't get any of Mt mother's or grandmother's old recipes. I remember some, but I was missing a lot of them. This book has many of the recipes that I have been looking for and that makes me so happy!!! I will now share them with my son!

Decent cooking book
Has quite a few good recipes that everyone should know how to cook but lacks pictures. I've made 3 recipes out of the book so far which were good. Some of the recipes I already know how to make oe have recipes for so not in a hurry to try those. This would be a good starter cook book for someone new to the south or who like southern food.

Awesome Cookbook
I received my cookbook this evening. I sat and looked at each recipe. This is down home cooking. I can’t wait to make each dish. Fried green tomatoes, creamy mash potatoes, the fried chicken recipe. I promise you will love this book.

No Mac and cheese recipe
Arrived on time it has great recipes only missing the pictures but they may be good so u want be critical of yourself with ur finished entree . There are pictures on the front and back covers

Correct amounts?
On it's recipie to prepare Pinto beans, it states it'll feed approximately 6 people only using 2 cups of beans. That is not possible unless they are small children. I wonder if they meant 2 lbs?

I loved the fact that the recipes were very simple and easy to follow! The Cream cheese mashed potatoes were awesome along with the fried pork chops. I highly recommend this book!!

Good Southern Recipes
I love all the recipes! That is true Southern cooking! I always try a new recipe every week and this book has a lot of recipes that I don't normally make!

GREAT LITTLE RECIPE BOOK
My husband was the first to look at this booklet and gives it a "thumbs up". I'm looking forward to making some of these delicious looking recipes.
