I take the manufacturer insert out and replace with my custom orthotics and fits perfectly. Note: I do notice I have to size up when I purchase the Ecco brand. I normally wear a 10.5 and I buy the 11-11.5 size in Ecco. **Q: Are they waterproof?** A: No, this model is not waterproof. I have many problems with my feet and I can walk in stand in these all day. I didn't even have to break them in They were comfortable the minute I put them on! They size was perfect. I got size 38 and usually wear 7 US. I ended up ordering other sneakers in this brand. This is coming from someone who really hates sneakers. These high tops are the best! They look fashionable and have the same comfort level as all the other Soft 7’s. The arch support is there as well as the rubber nubs on the sole. I tend to twist my ankle easily and stopped wearing platform type shoes. I feel very secure and grounded when I walk in them. I adjusted the laces so they are not too tight, and are easier to put on my feet.
