REALLY GREAT ANTIBACTERIA ENZYME SHAMPOO! DOG COAT LOOKS BETTER!
My dog has had skin bacteria issue on and off for a while because of his age and immunity. I read the reviews on this item and had tried the Zymox brand for his ear yeast infections and this stuff performed pretty miraculously. The shampoo is amazingly rich and thick. It smells good and does a much better job than following up my dog's bath with a vinegar rinse which is what I was doing before to get rid of the skin issues. However, my sensitive dog hated, really hated the vinegar rinse and it would stress him out so much that I had to find another solution. I tried this and he was pleasantly surprised as was I. This gets to the deep areas beneath the coat easily and doesn't just sit on the surface of the skin. I followed the instructions about letting it sit for 3-5 minutes and I let it set for five and more. The shampoo is easy to rinse out and really leaves his skin feeling soft. After his bath, he does not show the normal irritation of moving from one position in the house to the next. He seems more settled and not trying to escape the itch. After his bath, I inspected the areas and they were almost as pink as the rest of his normal skin. But don't be fooled! Bacteria and fungus invasions are nothing to play around with. I am giving him a bath every other day for three weeks and washing his bedding every single day and it is making a difference. This shampoo is great and I have purchased the Zymox coat conditioner for after bath rinsing. I will post more later as progress goes...

Very good Dog Shampoo
I have used this for many years on three different dogs. It lathers well and it cleans her skin and hair very well. It smells good and does not irritate my pup. When I say lets get a bath, she uns to the tub and jumps in. She is a Westie and they can sometimes have skin issues but since using this shampoo none of my dogs have had issues. I recommend this for anyone looking for a shampoo to help skin issues or just give a good bath.

This works...and my novel-length review will tell you why.
So far, so good. Let me give you some background information on my dog since that is what I was looking for when I was reading reviews. We have a 6-1/2 year old pit mix female. Around the age of one year, she started having skin issues ranging from redness to itching to hair loss - the whole nine yards. We spent several thousands (yes, thousands) of dollars on veterinary care including visits to a veterinary dermatologist. She had undergone your standard steroid therapies (which no one pet wants to endure) and had even had sulfur-lime dips (that our former vet said would "cure" her.) She had been on a raw diet, tried holistic remedies such as coconut oil, ACV, etc. When I say we tried everything, I mean we tried everything available at those times. She was diagnosed with a bacterial yeast overgrowth on her skin as her primary skin issue, and she also had seasonal allergies as well. Our former vet wanted to put her on Atopica, but after reading the various pharmacology results, we decided against it and changed vets. Right now...our dog is on Apoquel, but Apoquel does not "solve" or "treat" the issue. It only helps alleviate the body's response. We had been bathing her with other shampoos when I came across Zymox. Knowing how well Zymox works for her ears, I read some reviews and took the plunge to buy both shampoo and enzymatic rinse conditioner. We bathed her with Zymox, and the first time we used the enzymatic rinse (sort of like cream rinse for humans,) I rubbed it on her and let it dry. I was skeptical about this because in the past, leave-on type of conditioners and "protectants" left a film that would dry and flake. The day after we bathed her the first time with Zymox, the redness subsided on her skin (she was having a particularly bad flare up from environmental allergies.) She also stopped itching as much. She itched here and there, but when we opted to do baths on one day and rubbing some of the enzymatic conditioning rinse (which can be used like a rinse, watered down as a spray, or rubbed in as-is) on the other days (every other day,) she has greatly improved. We will begin adding in some digestive enzymes and probiotics in her grain-free, low starch kibble, and go from there. However, if you're looking for immediate relief for an itchy dog (keep in mind...this is not a treatment...this is solely to help alleviate the symptoms. You need to seek veterinary assistance for a diagnosis) this is it. We now keep a spray bottle of conditioning rinse and use the rinse "straight as is" in problem areas.

Very good product
My Westie (skin problem is common with this breed) has been using Zymox shampoo for 2 wks now 2x/week he's got hot spots. I've noticed a dramatic change after the very first time he used it, after 2 wks he doesn't scratch that much anymore and some of his hair are starting to re-grow and his skin is starting to heal, it's not too red and sticky and warm to touch anymore. I have also ordered the Zymox rinse and just waiting for its delivery and will start on that too in between baths and see if it will continue to totally heal his skin back to normal. I am very satisfied with this product and would highly recommend it to dogs with skin problems. I am planning to use this shampoo as his regular shampoo from now on and it smells good too.

This Works!!!
Just what my yorkie boy needed!!! Used many other products in search of getting him relief from skin issue that started last summer and was Not going away fast enough to for me as I had to watch him suffer with extreme discomfort. Did the DIY treatments... some worked some did not.He was breaking out with these little bump like pimples here and there that would come to a head and become sticky. Still don't know what this is... not even the vet ($$$$$) I did some searching and came upon this product, read all the reviews, and went for it.Well after the first shampoo and the conditioner treatment, the results were short of a MIRACLE... What I do for my boy is to give him a LIGHT shampoo every 3-4 days to maintain his skin as clean as possible. This product when used together with the conditioner according to directions,WILL NOT DRY out the skin as some other treatments do.Sometimes you must shampoo your dog more frequently than normal.... try shampooing YOUR hair or bathing once a month or every 6 weeks and see what happens to your skin. It's NOT TRUE that you will dry out your dog's skin if you bathe them more frequently, as some dogs just require it more often than others. You need to get rid of the pollen, dirt, household dust that settles on a dog's coat just as it settles on your furniture. I have a female yorkie as well and treat her as I do my boy. This also smell wonderful and last a long time on the fur. The only thing that I would like to see addressed is the bottle as it is really hard to squeeze and needs to be kept at normal room temp.to make the bottle much easier to squeeze. I transferred some of the product into another container that was better. I ordered extra so that I'm never without this. I hope it does not get discontinued as do so many other products, especially when they work. You can also dilute it if you need to especially if it's used more often. Great price for something SO GOOD and now my boy is the king of the jungle once again!!! Happy MOM, Happy Boy!!!

Second bottle purchased ...
I like this shampoo and my dog seems to feel comfortable after I bathe him. He doesn't have any skin problems or allergies, although he is scratching more in summer time. But the shampoo cleans well, he doesn't scratch after baths (at least for a while) and the shampoo has a light scent, as it should. It is an expensive shampoo, but he is a short hair Lab mix and I don't bathe him very often.

Zymox Lp3 enzyme system shampoo
I do like this product. I normally use a shampoo with chlorhexidine in it. I've been using it for years. I thought we would try something new. I wasn't disappointed. Good price. No smell. Didn't have to leave it on for 10 min. Only 5. Half the time. It has calmed her red spots. Took away her smell and oily skin. I would definitely recommend this pet shampoo.

Love the fact that it is a tearless shampoo so ...
Love the fact that it is a tearless shampoo so I do not get too much flak from my pooch. Using both the shampoo and rinse has eased my dog's suffering. He does not scratch himself into a frenzy anymore. Everyday is different. Using Zymox shampoo and rinse has eased his itchiness and I need to try it out fir him.

Works well for skin yeast infections!
I love this product!!! Zymox is a great brand for shampoo, conditioner and ear drops. My girl has a skin yeast infection and this helps. I'm unable to go to a vet as no vet in my city is taking new patients....so I to have to make do. All the things I've tried this one is the best!!

works
I use zymox shampoo and conditioner for skin relief on my Chihuahua. He has allergies and gets red, inflamed skin and the shampoo and conditioner make his skin feel better. The Conditioner rinse you can use just by itself - it doesn't have to be rinsed off. Smells great too!
