Trying to stay away from harsh chemicals but need to remove saltillo tile sealer that's peeling off. Will this product work?

I am not sure if i can address this exact question. For me, it removed concrete from a metal building without hurting the color or metal. A warning, however, is to wear latex gloves. It did burn my hands.

Will this soften a 1/2" thick layer of mortar on a fireplace hearth enough to scrape it off? if so, dimensions are 90"x20". Will this gallon cover it?

What type of material is the hearth made of?

Can this product be used on car paint?

If used at full dilution 1:10 and out of direct sun. Also make sure to rinse thoroughly.
