can you control volume?

yes you can control volume, but volume is louder with earphones on and not very loud through its speaker...so it is not the best for me as a drummer...

Can you connect an AC adapter to this?

No, the only external port is a 1/8" audio jack for headphones. You need to just buy extra batteries (CR2032). They last around six months for me with light daily use.

What is the beats per minute range? Does it go down to 30?

The BPM range goes from 30-250. Hope this helps!
