Will the color run when you wash it?

As with most hand-blocked and hand-stitched cotton fabrics and kanthas, the indigo and other dyes will run if one washes them in hot water. Suggestion: wash the kantha in cold water with a bit of your favourite detergent *before* using. That will take away the excess dye sitting on the fibers. Dry on medium heat or on the clothesline. Then, wash it in cold water in the future. At the most, I have only washed kanthas three times a year. I personally love all of my various kanthas purchased during the past 10 years. The colours and fabrics have held up. Fear not.
