Really good so far
For us, this has been really good so far. Only had it a week but made a few things already (satay stir fry thing, smoky chickpea jacket pots and beetroot risotto) and they've been really tasty. My 18 month old devoured the beetroot risotto and the toppings made it really interesting for us. Will update if everything else is we try rubbish, but having not tried his recipes before, I'm happy so far. I like that the speedy suppers have genuinely been really quick... Which isn't always the case with cookbooks. There's a good amount of veg in stuff and lots of different ideas. For a baby just starting weaning, I'd say there's ingredients I'd want to avoid for sugar and salt reasons, but the recipes we've tried, some you add the sauce at the end so you can customise and obviously just leave things out if you need to. I feel compelled to say that some of the negative reviews on here seem really unfair! For example people saying their kids are "good eaters" but there's nothing in here they'd eat. I think if you can look through 100 recipes and there's nothing your children would eat they're probably not good eaters and that's probably not Joe Wicks's fault. You can see that people have uploaded pics of the recipe lists so I guess you can judge for yourself, for us these aren't at all things our baby wouldn't try. I would say there's quite a few ingredients that might be unaffordable if you have to cook on a real shoestring, but if you're comfortably off and you're up for introducing your kids to a good variety of things/not getting stuck in a rut, this seems a really good book to me.

Loving these recipes so far
I’ve been working my way through this book in January in a bid to eat freshly cooked, less processed meals. Every one of the meals we have tried has been delicious and made my kids say ‘can you make this again’. We’ve tried a variety of dinners and the simple sauces or dressings and the range of store cupboard ingredients elevated to something just a bit less boring for a midweek tea have been a revelation. And as a bonus most of them are fast to put together as well. I look forward to making many more delicious recipes - thanks Joe!

Good
Not as good as I thought it was going to be. The index doesn’t allow you to find a recipe easily. Nice simple food though.

Not as family friendly as I expected
I want to start off by saying I’m a big fan of Joe Wicks. I followed his 90 day plan and now use the body coach app. I have most of his other books. With that in mind I was excited for the launch of this book. However having now poured over the contents to plan a week of family meals I am definitely disappointed. I really thought this book would have lots of ideas for quick, simple healthy versions of family favourites but many require ingredients that likely aren’t in the store cupboard and are quite expensive to buy. I can’t say a huge amount of them will appeal to my kids (and my eldest will pretty much eat anything). It feels like there are a many recipes that I have seen before in his other books and they are just tweaked to make more portions which I do myself anyway. Overall not especially impressed and I so wanted to be

This book deserves 5 stars and more!
I am floored at some of the negative reviews on here! This book offers tasty food that is jam packed with nutrition. Clearly this is what Joe Wicks feeds his family daily as these are well put together and simple recipes. I had fallen into a bit of a rut with cooking for my 15 mo and husband - doing the same things over and over. This book has been particularly useful for upgrading my staple recipes and adding an extra punch of nutrition that I wouldn’t have thought of. For example, Mac and cheese (with extra veggies such as mushroom and kale), sausage ragu (with lentils), chickpea curry (veggie packed and delicious!), baked fish with garlic cream cheese and tomato (yum!) and orzo and cheese stuffed tomatoes. There are even nutrition packed desserts such as chocolate cake (with beetroot and avocado) and chocolate dessert (with prunes, avocado and berries). The recipes are easy and quick and if I don’t have the fresh additional ingredients (such as oregano) I just substitute with dried. If my toddler is a bit unsure about a new dish, I make sure I offer the new food alongside known and favourite foods. I also batch cook for repeated exposure. High recommend this book!!!

Great price, condition not great
I frequently buy used books and have no issue with normal wear and tear. The condition of this book should have been listed as acceptable due to significant food stains and residue on certain pages. On the other hand, I now know what recipes someone really liked!

Not family friendly food at all
My kids would only eat a handful of these recipes looking through the book and the ingredients… disappointing. Who are these families that all eat meals like this every night? Not mine.
