Of course I want to be like them. They're beautiful as blades forged in some divine fire. They will live forever. And Cardan is even more beautiful than the rest. I hate him more than all the others. I hate him so much that sometimes when I look at him, I can hardly breathe. Jude was seven years old when her parents were murdered and she and her two sisters were stolen away to live in the treacherous High Court of Faerie. Ten years later, Jude wants nothing more than to belong there, despite her mortality. But many of the fey despise humans. Especially Prince Cardan, the youngest and wickedest son of the High King. To win a place at the Court, she must defy him—and face the consequences. In doing so, she becomes embroiled in palace intrigues and deceptions, discovering her own capacity for bloodshed. But as civil war threatens to drown the Courts of Faerie in violence, Jude will need to risk her life in a dangerous alliance to save her sisters, and Faerie itself. From #1 New York Times bestselling author Holly Black comes the stunning The Folk of the Air trilogy filled with twists and enchantment, as one girl learns the meaning of true power when she finds herself caught in a web of royal faerie intrigue. Great characters and storyline. Highly recommended for fantasy book enthusiasts. Brilliant. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Book *by A***R on 21 September 2025* Good books ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ A good fantasy series but NOT a Romantasy *by F***A on 8 July 2025* This is a good series but I don't understand how it has been labelled by booktok as a romantasy. It is really well written, the world building is incredible and the politics, the scheming and plot twists are fantastic, but it is NOT a romantasy. There is a little bit of a love story but I have not felt romance... I did not feel the love between the characters was described well enough to feel for them. If you like reading about fantasy, fae world, spying and war, then this book is right up your street, but if you've heard of it because of the romance bit, you might feel disappointed as there's no much of it and what is there is not enough to fall in love. ## Frequently Bought Together - The Folk of the Air Complete Paperback Gift Set - Fearless (The Powerless Trilogy) - Caraval Paperback Boxed Set: Caraval, Legendary, Finale --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.sn/products/303943726-the-folk-of-the-air-the-cruel-prince-the-wicked](https://www.desertcart.sn/products/303943726-the-folk-of-the-air-the-cruel-prince-the-wicked) --- *Product available on Desertcart Senegal* *Store origin: SN* *Last updated: 2026-10-02*
