Discover Holly Black's blood thirsty bestselling The Folk of the Air series in this gorgeous paperback gift set including: The Cruel Prince , The Wicked King , and The Queen of Nothing . Of course I want to be like them. They're beautiful as blades forged in some divine fire. They will live forever. And Cardan is even more beautiful than the rest. I hate him more than all the others. I hate him so much that sometimes when I look at him, I can hardly breathe. Jude was seven years old when her parents were murdered and she and her two sisters were stolen away to live in the treacherous High Court of Faerie. Ten years later, Jude wants nothing more than to belong there, despite her mortality. But many of the fey despise humans. Especially Prince Cardan, the youngest and wickedest son of the High King. To win a place at the Court, she must defy him—and face the consequences. In doing so, she becomes embroiled in palace intrigues and deceptions, discovering her own capacity for bloodshed. But as civil war threatens to drown the Courts of Faerie in violence, Jude will need to risk her life in a dangerous alliance to save her sisters, and Faerie itself. From #1 New York Times bestselling author Holly Black comes the stunning The Folk of the Air trilogy filled with twists and enchantment, as one girl learns the meaning of true power when she finds herself caught in a web of royal faerie intrigue. A good fantasy series but NOT a Romantasy
This is a good series but I don't understand how it has been labelled by booktok as a romantasy. It is really well written, the world building is incredible and the politics, the scheming and plot twists are fantastic, but it is NOT a romantasy. There is a little bit of a love story but I have not felt romance... I did not feel the love between the characters was described well enough to feel for them. If you like reading about fantasy, fae world, spying and war, then this book is right up your street, but if you've heard of it because of the romance bit, you might feel disappointed as there's no much of it and what is there is not enough to fall in love.

Amazing!
This trilogy was a fascinating read and I was immediately invested in the story. I could not put these books down! I definitely enjoyed the wicked king the most out of three, but I enjoyed all of theme immensely. I always look forward to the ending of these books, as Holly Black never to failed to surprise me with these plot twists and cliffhangers!

Page-turning, enjoyable read
This has to be one of my favourite series. I like the character growth, the world building and of course ship the main romance. This has been on my tbr for so long and I regret not reading it sooner. There are some frustrating parts, such as when you read and get to know Jude as being very clever and then at the same time not realising something so obvious such as a loophole in a ruling but I guess it does emphasise her humanity and how she lets her emotions get the better of her. The romance is from enemies to lovers and I do think that Holly Black fully explains the reasons behind Cardan’s behaviour and you also get to see him develop and become better in a very realistic way. If you’re a fantasy fan then you need NEED to give this a read!

Addictive and an excellent YA series
My heart was pulled in different directions for multiple reasons!!!! I'm not sure how to feel about all the betrayal I just read. My mind was screaming with joy during certain parts, but then screaming no no no no no no no no no no at other parts.

Clean Action Elf Adventure
I read the series in three days. I was a bit apprehensive because it started with elves. Yeah. I know it's a book about elves. I couldn't get past the ears and put the book down. My daughter, who was the one who wanted me to read the series, kept pestering me until I picked up the book again and got past the elf ears. I'm glad I did. Awesome world building. Lots of action. And my romance-loving heart was happy at the end of the series.

Lindo
O box é meio molinho, mas tem um bom espaçamento dentro. Os livros são muito bonitos, do mesmo jeito das fotos que tem em outras avaliações por aqui. A jacket/sobrecapa é boa. Não tem nenhum dos textos extras (o conto da Taryn, o final estendido, cartas do Cardan e os POVs do Madoc) e a leitura em inglês é bem tranquila.
