Lady's Ransom (The First Argentines Book 3)

Yet another exciting story from Jeff Wheeler
I was delighted to see book 3 of the First Argentines series in the the top 100 list, as I hadn't realised it had been published yet. Thankfully Jeff Wheeler is a fast writer, so those of us eagerly awaiting the fate of Ransom and the many other richly drawn characters, don't have to wait too long for our addiction to be sated. Unfortunately I am a fast reader so even as I am enjoying the book part of me just doesn't want to get to the end.Book 3 doesn't disappoint. Treachery abounds but so does loyalty, love and honour. I also love all Mr Wheeler's books because he is not loathe to speak of a higher power. I think this brings another dimension to his stories. In his acknowledgements in this book, he refers to an email from a lady who found comfort in words taken from a previous series while coping with forest fires. I have saved many notes I have highlighted from his books too, as sometimes they just resonate so much.As for this story, I can't say much without spoiling it but the action, the tension, the misinformation, the machinations and of course our ensuing worry for the characters we have come to care about are all there and I cannot see how a reader could be disappointed.Roll on 04/01/22 when Fate's Ransom (The First Argentines Book 4) will be released. I hope there won't be too much anguish but I'm ready to read it all the same. I believe this will be the final book in the series but, as with all Jeff Wheeler's series, they are very rereadable, so I know they will continue to entertain me.I read this with Kindle Unlimited and I am grateful that this author, and many other excellent authors, allow us to do so.

Full of intrigue
Superb continuation which was difficult to put down. The parallels with other stories are there, but it is very different too. Wheeler has an uncanny knack for weaving together the most brilliant of stories, and never ceases to cause enjoyment in his readers as they peruse his many universes. Now, if he could just speed up the release of the next book I'd be very grateful because waiting patiently is going to be tricky indeed!

Jaw dropping
Once again Jeff Wheeler has yet another gripping book, extremely hard to put down at times, with gripping storylines throughout. And once again you are left wanting more and for the book not to end.

An excellent book
A great stand alone but even better if you have read the previous 2 books. The series is a pre-qual to the excellent kingfountain series and has many plot twists and turns. An excellent book.

Very enjoyable read
I love Ransom and Claire. Ransom is the 'very parfait knight' of legends and Claire's the epitome of a feisty, loving lady. Can't wait for the fourth in the series.

Still a good read, but not quite as interesting as the previous books in the series.
I liked reading more about the different characters and how events unfolded but there didn’t seem as much in the way of interesting background details as the previous books in the series. It just felt a bit more mundane somehow.

Compelling
Compelling reading from beginning to end. The storyline has you totally rivetted, there are more twists and turns in this book than a slalom skiier, brilliant👍

Another great follow up
The journal sections help to built up the characters, and there is good description of the journey. Perhaps one day this can be written into an open world game.
