Good litter for my fussy cat, with a few drawbacks
I live in an apartment and have two indoor cats. I used standard clumping litter for a long time, but I didn't like the dust (even with supposedly "dust free" types) and having to take the used litter out to the dumpster immediately if I didn't want to smell it was a chore. Plus there were always little bits of litter falling off the clumps and back into the box.My older cat is very fussy about her litter and extremely suspicious about litter changes. She prefers fine clay litter and this was the only flushable litter I could get her to use. The others had either the wrong size granules or she just didn't like them. It took a month and a half of mixing litters to get her to change. Unfortunately this cat has reduced kidney function and drinks a lot of water. What goes in must come out. Her urine doesn't fluoresce under blacklight, so when she decides she doesn't want to go in the box finding the pee is a monumental task. This litter is expensive, but it is worth it not to have to smell pee.Pros:It's flushable.Easy to see when there's a pee problem.Clumps hard.Cons:Not very dense. Pee goes right through it and pools on the bottom. Thankfully since it clumps so strongly it's easy to peel the mats off.Expensive for the amount you get.Goes everywhere when the cat jumps out. I solved this problem by putting the box in an unused bathtub and putting up a barrier so they have to go through the empty part of the tub.Does not control urine odor that well by itself. I add activated carbon to the box and have no issues since then.

One of the Cleanest Litters Available
Cleanest litter system that I have used! I have been using the Garfield litter for a week now. I added a second litter box with the new Garfield litter in it because I was not sure how my two cats would like it. So right now I have both the traditional clay clumping litter box and the new Garfield litter in a second box. I have not seen my female cat use the Garfield box yet.The two main disadvantages to this litter are: First HIGH PRICE! And second the urine masses stick to the bottom of the box and are often difficult to remove. I have to hit the bottom of the pan on the floor to dislodge the urine masses. However, I gave this product FIVE STARS because of the ADVANTAGES: First, virtually ODORLESS!!! After removing the urine lumps and placing them in a small waste can, I smelled the "can" and there was NO ODOR from the dirt litter. Second, once I cleaned the litter box, it is the cleanest cat box available. (After cleaning a traditional clay litter box there is always dirty leftovers and dirty, wet clay that sticks to the box and smells!!! I also have problems with the cats leaving dirty footprints all over the house -- window seat, furniture, my pillow?, etc.) With the Garfield litter, I can virtual clean ALL the cat waste out of the box, and it's basically DUSTLESS!!!Therefore, despite the high price, I am switching to the new Garfield litter and giving the FIVE STAR RATING because it's one of the cleanest litter systems available -- so CLEAN WINS OVER PRICE!!!

Great litter, but not enough of it in the bag
Being a huge fan of Garfield I bought this litter simply for the cat on the front of the bag, but I've been very impressed with this litter! The litter clumps as hard as a rock without any urine smell. No dust. We have very little tracking outside of the box, and we are very pleased with the litter's functionality overall. We are on a personal septic tank and will not flush this product, so I cannot speak for that.I give four stars only because of the amount of product in each bag. We have a large enclosed litter box so we must use 2 full bags to obtain the 2" to 3" depth the manufacturer recommends. I use the third bag of this three pack to refill the box after each cleaning. So instead of the three pack lasting three months, our three pack only lasts one month for a single cat.UPDATE: I tried the super-fine non-flushable and LOVE it! It is the consistency of sand which my cat loves, and it clumps even harder than the standard grains making it even easier to clean the box. Very low tracking and shipping from 7Pets is great! Still not enough in the package to last 30 days as advertised, but I love this litter!

Purr-chased this specifically for a dust-free environment as litter inevitably ...
Purr-chased this specifically for a dust-free environment as litter inevitably finds its place into every nook and cranny of my tile and hardwood floors, and my bed, and I would say this does that job 9/10.HOWEVERI do not change the litter daily. It's both a personal failure and from demand from my occupation. Why this is important is because, if you do not remove urine from this litter daily, it will literally solidify into a rock and stick stubbornly to the sides of your litter-box (note I use aluminum body litter-box) Removing it requires the use of force and the clumps are so big, they compare to my mens size 11 shoe. It is worth noting that I have seen some reviews which seem to suspect that the litter they received with similar properties was old. I cannot confirm if the litter I received is old or expired or this is a natural property of the crystals.I would say that with two cats and two litter boxes, I have gone through the entire three pack in 15 days.If you are unable to clean the litter box on a daily basis, please be aware of this before purchase.
