Basically, I needed to remove about 60 or 70 of them for an irrigation project. I already had a 1/2 drive impact gun, and a guy I know who does similar work said an impact and 8 point socket would greatly speed up removal of the plugs. I needed 3 or4different sizes, and it was easier (and not mubh more expensive) to just get this whole set, than the individual ones I needed. Added bonus was these came in a nice plastic case to keep them in. Used a few of them pretty heavy for a day or two, and they still look like new. Not something I'll use often, but they were a great help for the 4 sided plugs.
