Simply the best available for Xbox and I’ve tried most
I switched over from the PS5 to the series X and soon realised that the system is relatively limited in terms of compatible headsets in comparison to Sonys console. I used the Steelseries Arctis pro on my PlayStation for years. Coming to the Xbox I have tried the Xbox wireless headset, Lucid sound LS50, Steelseries X9, Corsair Virtuoso (despite reports these are NOT compatible) and the Audeze Penrose X and now these. Without question these are far and away the best around. Superb sound with unrivalled detail and accuracy, active noise cancellation, premium build, ultra comfortable, stylish. The mic was a concern but my Warzone crew say it’s the best one. The only contender was the Audeze Penrose as they do sound great too but they are as comfortable as a torture device believe me I’ve owned two pairs! If you have the budget save yourself the time and grab these beauties. Final point the app is superb.

Brilliant sound and features
Bought these headphones thinking they would be good but they are far better than I expected connects great to Xbox and also works great as regular headphones no annoying mic boom sticking out so the look like regulator headphones not like you work in a call center they also work with ps5 with the 3.5 lead plugged into the controller the noise cancelling feature is great also well worth the money I paid £145 while on offer in early December

Good quality, poor connectivity
Bought these for use with a PC mainly for gaming, which *should* be possible through both bluetooth and connecting to the Xbox wireless dongle I use for my controller. Audio quality over bluetooth or wired is great for music/video (tested with Spotify and YouTube) but has a perceptible lag when gaming via bluetooth. Connecting via the Xbox dongle solves the lag but introduces an intermittent crackle to the audio across games and video. Connectivity is the worst part though, they have to be re-paired to the Xbox dongle every time they are switched off. Battery life doesn't seem great either - from a full charge they used almost 30% in just under 2 hours, albeit with a fair bit of mucking about with connections. For music/video it's great, can't recommend for gaming.

Ear cushions are on the expensive side
Great headset in every aspect my only problem is with the cost of the replacement ear cushions they are almost £100 and you can’t even get them on Amazon so it would be nice to see them fix that

Some unique benefits, overall good but with issues
Great - Real leather earpads. I cannot describe how superior these are to the trash plastic "leather" on almost all other earphones. I would go so far as to say any of these portable headphones with plastic leather are unbuyable, including PX7, anything Anker or Bose or Sennheiser. I cannot stress how trash they are. They are colder when you put them on your head, they will be wet with perspiration when you take them off (unbreathable plastic) and they will fall apart in circa 2 years. Unacceptable on anything over £100. - Comfort. Apart from the above, the pads are soft and comfortable, the headband is comfortable and they aren't obnoxiously heavy. Could snag ears if you have big ears though due to the round shape. - User replaceable battery. Another thing that most other portable earphones are trash for. When you combine this with the plastic earpads most of the competition are literally disposable £300+ headphones. These ones can be replaced with just a few screws unlike many of the competition. It's not as simple as it should be of course, but at least it can be done. Decent - Sound quality. It's good, but it's not the original price (something like £350?) good. They sound worse than my Sennheiser HD599 which sit around £80-120, but they of course do have bluetooth, a battery, microphones and noise-cancelling tech. I can't sing their praise as if they're spectacular, but for the price I paid they're decent considering the features. The sub-bass is a bit subdued and the mid bass is pronounced. The detail is decent, I don't hear any sibilance and overall they are enjoyable to listen to. - Noise-cancelling and pass through. The PX7s I had before these were noticeably better at both of these. The noise-cancelling was astonishing and the pass-through was as if they were open-backed. These ones are just decent. The noise-cancelling works, but I can still hear my computer a little bit and the pass-through just doesn't seem quite as natural. - Battery life. More testing required but they don't seem to be getting anywhere near the stated life for me. Bad - Idiotic buttons and controls. The on/off/pair button, as a computing graduate who grew up with technology, is still a mystery to me. The touch pads to change the volume and noise-cancelling are an unbelievably bad choice. The PX7s it was simple - press button to cycle between noise-cancelling, pass-through or off. This thing you drag your finger to turn these features up and down and it bongs when you hit the limit. I'm not sure whether it is ever fully off (thereby saving battery), and of course it requires multiple swipes and half the time it doesn't register the swipe. As you can imagine, you also accidentally catch them while adjusting the headphones or taking them on and off. So you put it on and later realise you turned off the cancellation, or you adjust and suddenly FULL VOLUME. There's also some tapping you can do which I try to avoid because again it doesn't register half the time and I can't even remember what I have to do. When will manufacturers learn that touch buttons and gestures are inferior to actual buttons?

Incredible Sound Quality for the Price
Incredible Sound Quality for the Price and when used with the the Dolby Atmos app on my PC, films truly do come to life and have a depth and feel close to a full surround system.

The best headset I have ever bought
I knew Bang & Olufsen were a good brand but I had no idea how good. Easily the best quality earphones I have ever bought. I don't use it for gaming I watch movies and listen to music on them and the sound quality, even on a little iPad is outstanding. Nice and comfy on the ears, just great.

Less expensive headsets will deliver better results in key areas
Purchased by my spouse as an early birthday present, I had high hopes that the Beoplay Portal would offer a significant improvement over Microsoft's own Xbox Series wireless headset which (at the time of writing) can be had for a fraction under £90 here on Amazon. If you're looking for a more *stylish* set of gaming headphones and the bragging rights of spending £450 (again, at the time of writing - though discounted deals seem to be frequent), then this might suit you. Otherwise... Okay, first gripe: the headphones are advertised as coming with a 3.5mm, 3-ring audio cable that allows for L-R audio and microphone connection with relevant devices BUT the first thing I noticed when connecting to my phone to test this feature was that the headset must be powered on for 3.5mm wired connection to work. For comparison, my better half owns a Bose QC35 headset that also has a 3.5mm connection option, and although noise cancellation won't work when the headset is powered off, 3.5mm audio works just fine in this situation. For B&O to not implement a signal path that can go straight to the drivers without the headphones drawing power, at the asking price for this headset, is quite a letdown. A second, related gripe: if you use the 3.5mm connection with, say, a desktop PC, you'll get a perceptible audio signal delay when viewing videos; for example, watching YouTube videos meant that the sound was out of sync - not massively so, but it was noticeable. Switching to my pair of very beat-up Audio Technica ATH-M50 (almost twelve years of use and abuse) and boom, everything is in sync again. That aside, these are billed as a wireless gaming headset, so I decided to connect it to my PC using Microsoft's proprietary Xbox USB dongle and, as expected, there was no longer any perceptible audio lag when watching video - but a third gripe reared its head. At any given volume, the output of this headset is both noticeably quieter than either my ATH-M50 or official Xbox wireless headphones so, to compensate, I had to dial up the volume... and it was then that digital artifacts would happen. You know - crunches and hisses that imply a poor or lossy signal or similar? Except, the Beoplay Portal headset was less than a meter away from the Microsoft USB transmitter that is plugged into my PC. Switching back to the official Xbox headset and boom, this issue disappeared. The final gripe is that, compared to both the official Xbox wireless headset and also my old ATH-M50's, the out-of-the-box low-frequency response on the Beoplay Portal was sadly, significantly lacking. I know that there's a trend amongst gaming headsets to make them bass-heavy to mask poor quality drivers and overall frequency response, but this wasn't that. The attendant manual mentions a downloadable iOS or Android app that can be used to fine-tune some of the headsets features but again, given that Microsoft's own wireless headset sounds better straight out of the box for anywhere less than a quarter of the RRP of B&O's offering, I just can't see the value in a headset of this price point. Lastly, I didn't test the USB-C connectivity of this headset which (in theory) would allow anyone gaming on a PC to avoid the risk of the headset losing power during longer play sessions, nor did I test the noise cancellation or microphone quality, so I can't comment on whether those features pass muster or not. In summary: I had hoped that the Beoplay Portal headset would offer a qualitatively better experience than Microsoft's own wireless headset in the areas that I make use of most - especially since the B&O headset offered a "legacy" 3.5mm connection that might have allowed me to bench my aging ATH-M50's but, sadly not. If anyone asked, I'd suggest avoiding these headphones for all the reasons stated.

Great but...
The number of stars is based on the application and its relationship with the headphones. It creates a mess with the options and not identifying them. The sound is amazing and the comfort even better.

Really light on the head
So i bought these as an extra set. I have the audeze maxwell and that one sound quality wise is better. But this headset is so much lighter which for me when playing for extended period gets priority. The app is also very handy
