(without lid)** A: Just under 4 inches **Q: I just received this. The lid barely sits in the mug and is not secure (loose). Is it supposed to be snug? debating replace or return altogether.** A: It's not like a throw it down the hallway and not spill a drop type. If you turn it over, you'll be spilling. I have personally never dropped a drink in my life. I like it more, because the ceramic tastes like nothing, so it just tastes like coffee. Stainless steel tends to start to get a funk, I think. This is also dishwasher safe, which is nice. I mean, just don't think of like a sippy cup that is foolproof. It's definitely not. **Q: is it dishwasher safe?** A: It is dish washer safe **Q: Is this microwave safe with sleeve left on?** A: I think so, I run it through the dishwasher and the water gets pretty hot and I don't ever take off the sleeve. I can't see why not. I don't think it says on the bottom of the glass about the microwave.
