I like that it sold at a reasonable price and works as advertised. It assists with book reading by magnifying each line.

Very helpful for small text books. It allows me to speed read as well.

This magnifier is an acrylic hemicylindrical lens that sits directly on the paper surface. This works reasonably well when viewed from a slightly oblique viewing angle, not necessarily straight up. Some other products fail at that point. This difference is critically important when I place a document in front of a computer keyboard and transcribe it into a computer. Despite a modest 1.5x magnification rating, which is a more honest number than some other exaggerated or hyped up numbers on non-Carson products, the viewing distance difference between the monitor and the document is nicely absorbed by this moderate positive lens, and it's easier to do the task with less frustration.This short length may be more convenient for reading bound books, but it is inconvenient when working with documents in letter/A4 or larger. Need a longer version!

I am a person who can't read small print and have some textbooks that I have trouble seeing. This little thing has helped so much that I have ordered a total of 3. One for my school bag, one for home and one for my mother.

This is a handy gadget to keep in one's purse. It magnifies well. It's a bit of challenge since it magnifies only one line at a time, requiring the reader to move the item down the page, which obscures other lines. But it is great for small print and especially numbers. I am an accountant and I appreciate this.
