To my knowledge, any time you're looking at the larger Ateco piping tips, this is denoted by the first number (8), the second number being the style (the main is 0 being plain, 2 being open star, 4 being closed star, and 6 being fine star), the third number refers to the size (0 being the smallest, 9 being the largest). **Q: I have the Ateco large and medium coupler rings, but they won't fit the three largest tips of this set. What do I buy to fit them?** A: Hi. I just use a pastry bag for the really large tips. Cut the tip off a pastry bag and dedicate it to big tips.Just slide the tip into the bag. It should fit very snug. *Note- Nip the very end of the pastry bag! Cut a tiny bit at a time till you get the correct fit. No coupler needed. At specialty stores, you may be able to find a little bigger coupler... but most bakers just slide the tip directly into the bag. I have 3 different sized pastry bags dedicatedto the giant tips.
