Great way to protect your Gimbal...fit is tight.
I purchased this to go along with RealTree LensCoats for my 600mm f/4 lens and Gitzo Systematic tripod. I have a matching set of RealTree camo, which is very helpful for going largely hidden (along with some adequate body camo) while photographing birds and wildlife during dryer months and winter. The way this lens coat is designed, it is a little odd to get onto the outer arm of the Jobu Pro-2 gimbal. The fit is fairly tight so you have to stretch it a bit to get it to fit over the nipple where the knob on the top of the outer arm goes (you have to take the knob out first). The fit is also concurrently a little loose around the inner arm swing lock switch, and in my experience sand can get inside the coat through this loose area.Once on, it definitely does a good job protecting the outer arm of the gimbal from nicks and scratches. Sadly, I've managed to scratch up the top of the center bearing pretty thoroughly as this cover does not actually provide any protection there (by necessity, as with the largest lenses, there is VERY little clearance, or as may be the case (i.e. a 600mm f/4 + 1.4x TC) about a papers thickness of clearance with slight imbalance to the back.)If you are interested in camouflaging your gear, this will serve its purpose quite well. If you are primarily aiming to protect your gear, you might want to mod this just a bit by finding some weakly bonding adhesive to tighten up the loose area around the inner arm lock switch. When it comes to protecting the top of the center bearing, there really isn't anything you can do except to be extremely careful about how you balance your lens. With my EF 600mm f/4 L IS II + 1.4x TC, for "perfect" balance, I have to drop the inner arm plate all the way to the bottom, and when balanced with a 7D+Battery Grip, the Jobu dovetail lens plate's front security screw that prevents the plate from simply sliding out of the base when loosened ends up scratching the top of the center bearing. I have to either remove the TC or remove the battery grip in order to shift balance and ensure that I get good clearance, however that is at the cost of battery life or focal length extension. There may be a better lens plate that would avoid the clearance problem, however I have not yet found one. I don't consider this a problem with the LensCoat, just be aware that it does NOT provide any protection for the center post and bearing casing.

I own LensCoat for all my gear and have enjoyed the design and protection it affords
I own LensCoat for all my gear and have enjoyed the design and protection it affords. Latest cover, for my Jobu gimbal head was poorly designed. The holes for the knobs should be reinforced. Mine tore when stretching it over the knobs. I expected better.
