Great book

The Outdoor School books have been an incredible resource for us. We homeschool (ages 10, 8, 6, 3) and lead an outdoor educational program for elementary kids. These books are packed full of fun activities. Recently our kids went through the section on rockhounding. They spent an entire morning mapping and marking where they found rocks, then cataloging and writing out the features of each rock. My ten-year-old told me he wants to use these skills in a career when he grows up, to help people locate fossils. These books have helped nurture my kids' connection to nature and their curiosity and sense of wonder. We use these books every week, and plan out activities based on the lessons within them.

The media could not be loaded.  Fantastic well made book, thick pages and corners protected to prevent folding. There are 3 categories the book and each category provides tons of information, then shows how to identify or track an item, document about where and when you found it and extra space for notes, and last but not least different activities you can do.

My son doesn't enjoy reading, but has gotten really into this and it's activities!

I ordered this book as a gift, my child loves the Outdoor School series. This book arrived in a box with other books from Amazon. Yet only this book arrived with water damage. Very disappointed. I gave it 2 stars for the seller and the lack of consideration of quality.

I originally purchased this as a gift for my daughter, but we have loved it so much that we have made entire homeschool courses using it for the 40+ kids in our co-op - LOVE!
