Do I need the quick release or can I just use hub and steering wheel?

You don't need a quick release however you might have an issue clearing the horn button. If that becomes the case you will need a 1/2" spacer.

It is definitely worth the money and you’ll be pleasantly surprised with the product upon arrival.

I love the reinforced feeling of this steering wheel, compared to older models. It doesn’t feel cheap and is honestly way better quality than i was expecting when i made the purchase. I bought this steering wheel and it came within 3 days, 2 weeks earlier than expected package arrival so very happy with their shipping speed.
