Feng Shui Plain & Simple

A great guide! I've tried to learn about Feng Shui previously but could never make much sense of it. This book has changed that with clear descriptions and illustrations, making the concepts much easier to understand. I recommend!

I've read a few guides to Feng Shui but never managed to work out where the areas in my home are located. This book with simple to understand Bagua diagrams is written so clearly that it was easy to work out the different areas and elements that I needed to harmonise the chi in my flat, to work out the things that needed modifying and how to address them. Great guide.

I had a feeling that this was going to be a very good book and I was right. The thing that made me think it would be good was the publisher—they are distributed by Weiser, a very venerable company—they NEVER touch books that aren’t top-notch.From beginning to end, I found things that I liked a lot. In the Introduction she lets you know that there is more than one kind of feng shui—that’s super helpful. Then she proceeds to give information about the different kinds of feng shui. Her explanation of Compass Feng Shui is the simplest I’ve ever seen (and I’ve seen a lot). The last sentence of the book has this “...the effects of Feng Shui are ongoing once we put them in place.” That’s so encouraging.In between the beginning and end are very practical tips and she’s not shy about using that magic word “because”. She tell you WHY and that’s what I crave in a book. I’m not a blind believer—I want to know the rationale behind suggestions, and this book delivers!A couple of other nice things were that the remedies are practical with whatever style you have in your home, and her translation of Sha Chi as “difficult energy” is a real breath of fresh air. I’m tired of the paranoia that some books instill with term like “killing breath.” There’s none of that paranoia in this book—just nice practical things, like having an even number of chairs around your dining table.
