New Britain (Images of America)

My Great Grandmother and Grandmother are pictured in this series ! I knew the had been seamstresses and this brought back so many memories - if you see the pic of a group of women and caption states that they were seamstresses the one sitting bottom row on right was Big Nana and the one with her arm around her shoulders, standing was Nana !

Born in NB and lived there 55 yrs,got vol 1 and discovered a photo of my grandmothers mother and sister!!

These photo books have such import in the development of the Polish community in New Britain. The photos are beautiful and it's fun to see the 'old' city and some of those who helped bring it into the 21st century!

How great it is to peruse this book! So many people and places in New Britain I was not aware of when I was young. It's giving me an entirely new perspective of my hometown.

This was a gift for someone who had lived in New Britain and moved a number of years ago to the west coast. She remarked that it brought back many fond memories. This was a perfect gift for her.
