How big are the waffles and what size is thw waffle iron

The waffle iron outside dimension is 13"W x 11-1/2D x 3"H. It makes a waffle 10"Wx 8-1/2 which can be broken into 4 waffles 5"x4"

Will these waffles fit in a toaster? I want to make enough to freeze and reheat later in a toaster.

Yes! And here's the perfect method for freezing. I always make a big batch of batter, to have leftovers. Make the extra waffles just like normal, but lay them on a wire rack to cool. DO NOT stack them or they will get soggy. Once cool, break into the 4 quarter size and bag in freezer bags, and freeze. Once cool, it's okay to stack them. I use the defrost setting on our toaster, but I'm sure any toaster will work, just experiment with the settings. I hope this is helpful!

are the plates removable to clean

No, the plates are not removable. I always spray them with nonstick spray before I use it and have never had anything stick. I just wipe them off with a damp paper towel after use.

What makes the nonstick surface nonstick?

The surface is your typical nonstick surface, although if your waffle batter contains sugar they will stick. I use Pam Coconut spray and mine never stick. There is really no taste to the spray, I like it because it can hold up under a lot of heat. Hope this answer helped you.
