Sooo Helpful! MT!!
This book is easy-reading as a gripping story, however, also fantastically helpful in giving an insight into the challenges of everyday life for someone with PDA (Pathological Demand Avoidance) which is a little known part of the autistic spectrum. As the parent of a child with this same condition, I can relate to around 80% of the things that happen in this book, even down to the exact words used. The other 20% that I don't relate to so strongly I put down to the fact that every child is unique, but even these bits I enjoyed reading, as it gave me a great insight into the challenges other autistic children face that are different to my own child's. Some of the dramatic happenings in this book, like the way the girl damages the parents car when stressed, have come exactly true for us as well, and having read this book in advance helps us so much to cope with the situations as they arise, as we now understand how the child is thinking.

Great Insight
My daughter is 3 quarters through this book and she is loving it, its lovely listening to her when she finds herself relating to the authors story and its great that she can identify herself and know there are people in the world just like her. I have since gone on to purchase the other two books relating to this one so now my daughter has the entire set and she’s looking forward to reading them too.

Read avidly by our ten year old
Our son has read a lot this year and it is the "Tally series" he has read most avidly. It is also one of the first series where he has enjoyed the second book even more than the first. This one a little different in style as it is written as a prequel, with Tally back at primary school and that is the only thing that took the edge off for him. But it is a very accessible and well-written insight into a particular presentation of autism. Very relatable and fluent. We have our eye on the summer publication of the fourth instalment!
