Soldering iron is a high quality item. Made in Taiwan.
I purchased this item in April 2017 anticipating I would use it in the following weeks. Owing to unforeseen events (that's life so the saying goes), I was unable to use this cool soldering iron until today, November 22, 2017. I plugged it in to begin work on an important project and ..... well..... nothing happened. The Xytronic LF-399D soldering station would not even turn on. It appears it was broken upon arrival. I will look forward to XYtronics replacing this for me so that I can actually use this highly-regarded tool instead of glaring at it on the workbench where it lies faulty and unused. This review will be altered accordingly once I can use it. UPDATE 2019. Some months ago, I opened the case of the soldering iron and found that the fuse inside had become dislodged. Once I pushed the fuse back into place, the soldering iron worked perfectly. It is extremely well made in Taiwan. Highly recommended.
