Der Struwwelpeter (German Edition) Paperback – April 16, 2018

Der Struwwelpeter is a classic and I have yet to meet a kid who hasn't enjoyed its coy darkness. I will be waiting until my daughter is a slightly older child to introduce these to her, as I do think that younger kids are not capable of understanding the stories tongue-in-cheek rather than taking them literally.

SLOVENLY PETER has been in print for 140 years! It's probably the most well-read book for children ever published. The color illustrations are unique. Adults will recognize their own childhood exploits in tales like "Cruel Frederick". Reading SLOVENLY PETER should be part of every child's education. It's a comment on the times that many librarians have never heard of it.

This was one of my friend's favorite childhood book that her grandmother brought over from Germany. She misplaced it years ago and was very happy to have it again!

Ein Rat für meine Studium (Germanistik). In Mexiko ist schwer solche Bücher zu erreichen. Ausserdem ich mag sehr die alte deutsche Kindermärchen und dieses Buch ist ein gutes Beispiel.Die Bilder sind sehr Klar, die Märchen sind kurz und die Seite sind von der Originalfassung!

I had the book when I was 6 years old and it was the first one I could read. But I forgot so many of the Reims and it was a blast to read them and refresh my memory after all this years. the kindle edition looked exactly like the book I had all this years ago.

I did not expect to find german childhood stories on Amazon. Nice surprise, it's just like I remembered them when I was growing up. I also ordered other german childhood stories...I am just thrilled to add something from the past into my present enjoyments.

The new issue has been very well done/fixed! We were very disappointed with the previous issue, because the texts and pictures were fractured over the pages! Joachim & Renate Koertge

Excellent and timeless, fun to read and fun to learn which is what the doctor intended. I relived my childhood with nostalgia..

I had this book originally when I was a child in Germany and was really fascinated by it but eventually it got lost. Beautiful book and great stories with morals. Could be scary for very young children but then I bought it for myself and my children who are in their twenties! Fascinating book and also now available in English - I'm going to purchase the translated copy too. A book to be browsed through again and again.
