Men's Digital Gold Stainless Steel Watch

I collect inexpensive watches for fun...and I love that a little bit of money (often well under $50 when bought on Amazon or AliExpress) will buy a lot of watch these days. So cool!!! So I'm looking for well-made inexpensive watches, that have a look and function I find pleasing.I'm very partial to digital readout, and yes, even the plastic watch body with GOLD PLATING and this lightweight SOLID LINK band with sliding adjustment of master link, because it's easy to adjust and lays comfortably on the wrist. Most important, these are LIGHT IN WEIGHT as are most inexpensive watches of this type. If it scratches up over time, I'll just get another one...it ain't a lifetime investment!I wanted to try the SKMEI (or PASOY) brand basic digital watch, as they are very inexpensive...half to 1/4 the cost of CASIO (AliExpress or Amazon.) I'm partial to Amazon because they are a safe buy for the consumer, any problem, you're going to get your money back. (Because they hold the vendor's money for 30 days, good for us, not so fun for the vendor!)Well here's what I found...the plating on this watch is very nice, it's smooth and even, LOOKS GREAT and has no bumps or imperfections. Yes, the LED display numbers ARE a tad SMALLER than on the comparable Casio model, and they have a little less contrast to the background....BUT, BUT, BUT....this one is "good enough." (Yes, I'm saying the SKMEI is not identical to Casio, but it's certainly good enough- especially when we factor in the price difference.)Whether Casio metal bands or the one on this SKMEI, I do use a Dremmel tool to smooth the inside edges of the watch band first with a round stone, then with polisher and Mother's mag polish so it's rounded to my skin a bit where the watch band touches my wrist. Time spent in hand craftsmanship is a big part of premium watch price. I can smooth the inside edge of the watch band on a Casio or SKMEI with a Dremmel tool easily enough.)There are some things this SKMEI does better than a Casio, yep, you heard right...I actually prefer the night lighting of the SKMEI because it is the NUMBERS THEMSELVES WHICH LIGHT....not a backlight behind grey numbers as Casio does.A few reviews online say the watch is too small for a man, or the watch band won't fit a man's wrist. SORRY, NOPE, I have an average 7 1/4" measured wrist circumference and it would go at least another another inch if needed. You'll see from the pics that the fit is just fine on the wrist, and it does not look to small. Although to be fair I don't like monster sized watches.Overall I'll give this SKMEI watch a 100% score, IT IS TRULY GOOD ENOUGH! to my mind.I do not get paid to say things about watches, nor do I get free watches, I'm just like you, somebody who enjoys collecting watches, and given that you're looking at this one, I figure you like inexpensive watches too.Well done SKMEI or PASOY, or whatever your name is...does anybody know what the firm's real name is?You gots a customer!!!

This watch is nice and crisp! Lightweight, nice gold color and I love the back light! I have a Casio that’s similar and the backlight is no good and it was twice the price! Will definitely order more of these watches. Appears solid hopefully the metal and color holds up.

4* decent value for $20I like the overall aesthetic of this vintage gold casio knockoff. it looks sleek and multi purpose, people think its worth $200... for $20 this beats the original Casio gold for retail $75. however in silver the casio a168 is only +$10.-1 star due to, very poor face readability, no timer function, and case size is too small.Poor Viewing Angles and readability: the reading angle of this watch is like an older TN panel computer monitor, you have to view it at the right angle to see the time, almost like its got a "privacy screen" for an iphone on it...Stainless Steel: the metal band feels VERY CHEAP quality, but when youre wearing it snug around the wrist this feeling goes away due to not feeling the band flop around or make noises/chaffingNo Timer: the watch offers 12/24hr time, stopwatch, and an alarm (i believe it has up to 5 alarms, not 100% sure but it does have at least 1)Case size: similar to the viewing angle issue, the watch face size is a bit too small making functionality limited.Size adjustment: very easy to adjust the band to youre desired wrist width with the provided tool "screwdriver".overall i do believe its still worth the $20 i spent. HOWEVER in SILVER color the Casio a158 is available for only +$10. i got both. as the gold casio is well over $75...Screen quality: the real Casio is easily viewable from different angles under light or no light. It’s just a better screen quality.The Sknei is very hard to read from different angles. You have to look at it just right, which makes it very annoying and defeats the whole purpose of the watch.. I would say for $20. It’s still worth it. Here’s a picture of the difference in the face quality. Everything else is identical.Update* I just received the original Casio A158 in silver. the knock off SKNEI is almost identical except in the screen quality is 1000x worseAs you can see in the picture, the SKN is fine viewing directly above it with proper lighting but anything more than 15 to 20° angle and you begin to see all the background numbers unlike the Casio, which has a great viewing angle of up to 60°.Gold skn $18Silver Casio a158 $28

Wow this thing is better than my Casios! Holds the atomic time, for now.I popped the back and it all looks good inside. Screwed down module inside, not a plastic retainer. The viewing angle everyone complains about, but Armitron has way worse. I think the Rubik has the words viewing angles I've ever seen.This Skmei is excellent! No it doesn't come off, you have to bend the little tab that grabs it shut, with a pliars. Be very careful as this can break easily, but it IS necessary. I like the beep too, it's pretty loud. Compared to a Casio. The only better Casio is an a1000. Although I'm pretty convinced this is chromed plastic case. It feels EXACTLY like an a168w case.Still for $17 brand new, absolutely flawless. I thought the finish would be worse tbh but it's actually well done, nothing rough, loose, rattly or rusty. It does jangle a little though.

If you wash your hands at all or use soap, do not buy this watch. I haven’t even had it a week and it’s rusting! Water resistant? YEAH RIGHT!

Everything seemed great, but mode button broke a few weeks later, now I can't shut off the alarm I set or change the time for daylight savings 😔

Daily driver, 0 issues keeps perfect time, nice quality all around very pleased.*****

The band clasp won't work after a few uses
